WinDrag is an utility to expand your Windows Desktop. If you work with many windows and they are clustering your Desktop, WinDrag will assist you by expanding the Desktop so windows could be more organized. It also supports panning (using your mouse) and MoveBar (an icon bar displayed on the title bar) to assist you move through the Extended Desktop much more easily than most other utilities. Execute the WINDRAG.EXE file from Windows by using either the File Manager or the Program Manager. If you desire to have the WinDrag started every time Windows is started, place the WinDrag icon in the StartUp group in the Program Manager. How to Use WinDrag ********************************************************** 1. General Operations (a) An active window may be moved by pressing the left mouse button and dragging the mouse pointer on the Desktop. The window will move in the direction and in amount relative to the movement of the mouse pointer. (b) All windows may be moved at once by pressing the right mouse button and dragging the mouse pointer on the Desktop. All windows will move in the direction and in amount relative to the movement of the mouse pointer. (c) To display the MoveBar, click the right mouse button on the Desktop. (Do not move the mouse while clicking! It will move all the windows instead.) Click the right mouse button on the MoveBar to remove it from the screen. 2. WinDrag Window To open the WinDrag Window, double-click the left mouse button on the WinDrag icon, select WinDrag from the TaskManager, or choose [DRAG] button in the MoveBar. Opened windows are displayed as white rectangles. Currently displayed area in the virtual Desktop is displayed as dark colored rectangle. (a) An window may be moved by moving the mouse pointer to the window to be moved. Press down the left mouse button and drag it to where you want it to be moved. (b) To move all windows at once, move the mouse pointer to the virtual Desktop (light grey area). Press down the right mouse button and drag the windows to where you want them to be moved. (c) All windows may also be moved at once using a keyboard. Select the WinDrag Window and use the left, right, up, and down arrow keys to move windows in the respective direction. (d) Color of each rectangle can be changed to distinguish it from other rectangles (Example: making the rectangle corresponding to the Program Manager red). This will not actually change the color of the related window. Click the right mouse button the rectangle. A color pallete dialog box will appear. Choose the color you want the rectangle to be, and choose the [OK] button. (e) To move a window to the center of the screen, double-click on the rectangle corresponding to the window you want to display. (f) To change to resolution of the visual Desktop, choose the [2], [3], or [4] button. button Visual Desktop size (times the actual Desktop size) [2] 16 [3] 36 [4] 64 (g) To display free memory space, choose the magnifying glass button. Free memory space will be displayed below and free system resource (displayed to the right of the magnifying glass) will be updated. Color of the bar in the free system resource will change from green to yellow to red to warn the user. (h) Options (1) DispType -Layout Automatically spread out the windows. -Cascade Cascade all the windows on the screen. (2) Replace When Replace is checked, double-clicking the left mouse button will replace the clicked window with the top most window that entirely displayed on the screen. (3) DragMode -ON Able window to be moved by dragging a mouse pointer on a Desktop. -OFF Disable windows to be moved by dragging a mouse pointer on a Desktop. MoveBar is displayed at the upper right corner of the screen when DragMode is set to OFF. (4) About Display WinDrag version and revision information 3. Maximize Windows When a window is maximized, MoveBar is displayed in the left part of the title bar. 4. MoveBar (a) To open the WinDrag Window, choose the [DRAG] button. (b) To move all windows, choose the arrow keys corresponding to the direction to which you want the windows to be moved. Warnings ********************************************************************* 1. MoveBar may not display properly on some system with high resolution display boards. 2. Minimized windows can not be moved off screen. 3. Only up to 36 windows may be opened. 4. WinDrag itself can not be moved off the screen. 5. A window can not be moved beyond the virtual Desktop. When it is attempted, it will be moved back to its original location.
