*** WinWatch Ver 1.3 *** <<>> 1.View "Find Window Info": Move cursur over any window on the screen and click to select it. Show parent, child, class, window style, is_iconic, is_zoomed, is_enabled, window position, client area and other information. 2. Enhance View "Window List" to allow you to trace down parent-child window tree and get its detailed window info. 3.Add "System Info" item: "Available File Handles". 4."Stress" on " Disk Space", "System Memory", "File Handles", " GDI Resource", "USER Resource", "Timers". You can tie up some portion of the above resources and then free them later. It is useful when you want to see whether your applications still work well under some preset condition of limited resources. For instance, if you lower GDI resource below 10%, you will see pretty odd Windows behavior. <<>> If you use Windows, sometimes you will get this error message "Out of memory" or "Insufficient memory" even you have 16 MB memory or more. "Out of memory" or "Insufficient memory" doesn't mean your system memory is used up, instead it just warn you of out of some Windows resources(for instance, fixed memory , GDI or USER resource). Even Windows uses virtual memory to expand memory space, but there are still limits of some resources used by Windows OS. Windows programs stiil need to use fixed memory or conventional memory(below 640 KB). For example, if you use Windows for Workgroup may need 300-400KB fixed memory without loading any drivers or applications. Further, if you have multimedia or network devices installed in your machine, that will eat up a lot of fixed memory. If your fixed memory is used up, "Out of memory" or "Insufficient memory" message comes up. Besides, system resources GDI and USER heap are also limited to 64KB each and system timers are limited to 30. these three are important Windows resources. If any of these is depleted, Windows will be in unpredictable condition.Hopefully, Windows 95 will solve all these problems. This program is intended to report available Windows reources like fixed memory(conventional memory, below 640 KB), System memory, disk space, system resource(min. of GDI and USER), and timers. Besides, it will show all the Windows opened and Modules running list. You can set up run minimized or always on top at the startup of this program. When minimized, the icon title still shows available fixed memory, system resources and timers. Inaddition, WinWatch also reports system info, system parameters ,disk drive info, and find specified window info.
