OVERVIEW -------- The Advanced Power Management (APM) examination utility APMEXAM discovers the APM features available on a personal computer, for both desktop and laptop systems. It can be used to evaluate laptops before purchase to verify compatibility/support with the most modern power management features. USAGE ----- Simply invoke APMEXAM and it will do the rest. It runs through the relevant APM BIOS calls defined in the version 1.1 APM Specification, and displays success (PASS) or failure (FAIL) for each feature. The more successes it displays, the more closely the laptop implements the APM standard and the more power-saving features you can expect. With the current state in battery design this translates into longer battery life! Here is a sample run on a MEI WinBook: Advanced Power Management (APM) examination v1.10 Copyright (c) 1994 UZful Software, Inc. Test # 1 PASS APM is supported.
