This is the Shareware version of Mr. Burns.  Please feel free to copy
or redistribute this package.

It is a fully functional version of the package.  The shareware version
displays a message informing the user that the system is being monitored.
The registered version does not display this message and remains hidden
at all time. 

Program Description:

Mr. Burns is a Productivity Management Software package that monitors
the activity of any PC running Microsoft Windows.  This program is 
ideal for keeping track of the amount of time that you spend on your 
computer, detecting malicious use or your computer, or monitoring the 
productivity of others.  Because the program runs hidden in the 
background, the user is unaffected and unaware of the presence of 
Mr. Burns.  The following lists of some of the information provided 
by Mr.  Burns:

· Names and command lines of programs that were run (including time 
      started and stopped)
· Which applications were active, and when
· Amount of time the computer was left idle
· Number of Keystrokes hit

All of this information is discretely saved to compact audit files, and 
can only be viewed and decoded with the Mr. Burns Administration program.


"Mr. Burns" is a productivity management tool with 
numerous advantages and uses:

o SYSTEM ADMINISTRATORS can use Mr. Burns to monitor 	
  the popularity of software packages in a networked   
  environment in order to maximize usage of software
  user licenses.

o INTERNET/BBS/COMPUSERVE/AOL users can monitor the
  amount of time that they spend on-line in order to keep
  access fees under control.

o PARENTS can monitor the activities of their children   
  including game playing, and access to the Internet or
  other on-line services.

o EMPLOYERS can monitor inappropriate PC usage during 
  business hours by their employees (game playing,
  personal usage), as well as monitor employee  
  productivity (idle time, frequency of keystrokes).
