Welcome to Icondraw for Windows 3.0 Version 1.1 ----------------------------------------------- This is a shareware program, which I developed as a utility to help others in their pursuit of an ultimate graphical interface, fitting their needs to the fullest extent. I also developed it for personal reward. Now I would like to share it with others. This application is an icon editor, where you can make your own 16-color, 32x32 pixel icons which fit into the PROGMAN perfectly. The following lists the steps required to change an icon in the PROGMAN (Program Manager): 1. Save the Icon to a file with an .ICO extension. 2. Click on the icon in the PROGMAN which you wish to change ONCE. 3. Choose File Properties. 4. Click on the "Change Icon.." button. 5. Type in the name of the icon with the full path. (e.g. "c:\windows\myicon.ico"). 6. Click on OK, then on OK again. PRESTO! you will notice that the icon you specified now is visible in the PROGMAN. Currently, however, there is no transparency capability. I will be adding this feature in the next version. Version 1.1 Improvements: 1. Crosshair cursor when using tools 2 through 6. 2. File Save is fixed. 3. "Paste Bitmap" feature has been added to paste bitmaps in from the Clipboard. 4. Title is shorter. List of known problems and things to be added in the future: 1. When running with 256 colors, Icon comes out wrong. This will be fixed in the future. For now, I suggest re-installing with the regular VGA option for video, making your icons, then switching back to your 256 color mode. This is done via Setup from Windows. 2. Will be adding a grid. 3. Copy Bitmap feature will be added. 4. Transparency will be added. This will get rid of the "Grey dots" syndrome. For now, if you see grey dots while in File Properties, click on the "View Next" button until a clear icon is seen. 5. Sometimes people cannot click on a color in the colorbar to change a color. I suggest using the menu for now to change colors if the problem occurs. If you have any questions, my name is Philip Eskelin, Jr. Feel free to mail me any suggestions at [76701,152].
