After a lot of letter written by me I found myself, probebly like many others, wasting most of the time putting everything in place instead of writing the letter text. The template was made in two version Hebrew and English. The Hebrew version available as registered version only. For more information contact the author at the address below That template has 4 major functions: 1. Saving user information, so it retrieved automaticaly for every letter. The user can have two different profiles. Home profile and Company profile 2. Phone Book. In the phone book the user can save unlimited number of names and addresses. The information from the phone book can be retrieved directly into the letter. 3. Headers and Footers designer. The user can design headers and footers that will be added to the letter. The headers and footer can inclode any kind of text and graphics.There are different headers and footers for home and company, and they will be selected respectively the user profile used. 4. Setting up the letter. The letter can be set up in tow major ways, as Fax Cover Sheet or as Letter Form. In the Letter form the sender details can be put in two different places: In the top-right corner of the letter (top-left in the hebrew version), or in the signature area only. In the signature the user can choose wich details to insert. The date will be inserted automaticaly. I will appreciate any help and suggestion, to improve this program. Contents of Archive 1. HLETTER.DOT - template for writing letters in Hebrew, using Word for Windows with hebrew support. In this version of the template all the dialogs are in Hebrew. 2. ELETTER.DOT - template for writing letters in English, using the English or Hebrew versions of Word for Windows. In this version of the template all the dialogs are in English. 5. README.DOC - This read me file. Installation There is no Installation needed. To use the program just copy the templates to your WINWORD Templates directory (By default c:\winword). If you have previously version of the program (ELTR15.DOT, HLTR15.DOT) please delete them before putting this version. After that, you can use the template as you use any other template. To use a template choose FILE-NEW and select the desired template for your new document. Using The Program The use of the program is quite simple. Just use "File - New" and choose the correct template for writing letter. Choose HLETTER (Hebrew Letter) for writing letter in hebrew or ELETTER (English Letter) for writing letters in english. from now on you will be directed throw a serias of dialog boxes. In the first dialog you will be asked to decide if you want to use your home address or your company address. You will also be asked to decide were do you want your details will apear in the letter, and if you want to add your header and/or footer, to the letter. In the second dialog you will be asked to enter your details (If you haven't set them before, by using the "Set User Info" option), and the receiver details. the subject of the letter, and the details that you want to appear in the signature area of the letter, will be entered in the third dialog. And thats all. All you have to do now is to write the letter text. Setting User Information Setting the user information can be done by using the "Set User Info" button, in the "Details Dialog", when appear , or by chosing the "Tools - Set User Info" command from the menu. After you set the user information it will be saved, and will appear automaticaly in the dialog boxes where it is needed. Designing Headers and Footers You can design headers and footers that will be added to your letters. This is mainly to let you design your own logos that will appear in the headers or the footers of the letter. In the design you can insert text and graphics. The designs will be saved for later use. If you use your home address than your home header / footer will be picked for the letter. If you use your company address then the company header / footer will be picked. to design your own headers and footers chose "Tools - Design headers and Footers" command from the menu. Use any text or graphics that you want in your design. To save the design, so it will be used the next time you ask for, choose "Tools - Save Header / Footer" command from the menu. Phone Book In the Phone Book the user can keep information about all the people he writes them often. There is no limit to the number of records in the file. When ever you write a letter using the template you can choose a receiver from the phone book, by using the "Phone Book" button. The receiver information will be inserted into the dialog. In the Phone Book you can edit an existing name, adding a new one or deleting an old one. the phone book will be sorted automaticaly, after any change you make. It will also be saved automaticaly. Versions History Version 2.6 1. The Phone Book file moved (Automaticaly by the program) from the root directory of C: to the WinWord templates directory, so network users can use it from eny computer conected to the net. 2. If the user deleted the phone book file, the program could'nt find it and error massage appeared. This problem was fixed. Now the program creates a new one instead. 3. Quatation marks are aloud in the phone book. Version 2.5 1. Added Phone Book to the template. 2. The headers and footers designer moved to separate template. A lot of people used to press the close button instead of using the save-header/footer comand, and they got error mesage when they tried to use the save-header/footer later. 3. Some bugs fixed.
