I don't have time to working with Windows98. I think you can modify it.
Maybe it works well without modification.





- D e s c r i p t i o n -


Add Send To Notepad and Command Prompt Here in context menu ( right click ) 
for every file. Notepad is easier to edit/view any unknown file extension. 
You can right click and choose "send to notepad" or "Command Prompt Here" 
for fast go to directory where that file stay and manage it by DOS prompt.

The Windows Explorer/QuickView that comes with Windows 95/NT is very useful,
however notepad is easier to edit/view any unknown file extension. So I 
tried to add a command into the context menu for fast edit/view any file.


Command Prompt Here for File.reg

Microsoft Power Toy has a kind of these feature but it adds command prompt
in context menu for directory folder only. So I tried to add it for any file.
Then, I can right click file and choose "Command Prompt Here" for fast go 
to directory where that file stay and manage it by DOS prompt without right
click at directory folder.

If you don't have Microsoft Power Toy, These registry work same as MPT.
By add "Command Prompt Here" into the context menu for every Directory.





- I n s t a l l a t i o n  -


Just double click on the .reg file. It will automatically merged into the 
registry, and the command will be immediately available.


For windows 95 user, Edit the "Command Prompt Here for File.reg" and 
"Command Prompt Here for Directory.reg" and change cmd.exe to command.com

Search registry and delete these key : 
( keep backup if your are beginner )

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\Shell\Send To Notepad
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\*\Shell\Command Prompt Here
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\Command Prompt Here
