Version 1.3 - Fixed bug when repeating a search for text - occasionally would not find the text. Version 1.4 - Added ability of viewer program to scroll left and right for long lines. This means your text can now extend past the right hand side of the screen. Ideal for tables and spreedsheets. Maximum line length 255 characters. - Added the program JOIN.EXE to replace the batch files for joining small text files into a single big text file. Version 1.5 - Now uses the currently set video mode. For example, if you are using 50 line mode, then the executable files created by Bigtext will display text in 50 line mode. - Line drawing characters are now approximated during printing. (with - and | characters). Version 1.6 - Text viewer programs now have a percentage indicator on the bottom line of the screen to indicate the relative position within the document. - Sometimes the "~" characters were printed out when printing. This has now been fixed. - You can now use the text compression feature on documents that contain graphic ascii characters. However, individual lines containing graphic characters will not be compressed. - The program Bigtype.exe has been included in the package. Using this program you can generate fancy text to make your presentations more interesting. Version 1.7 - Text compression will now compress text by an extra %15, meaning you can process even larger volumes of text - 700kb or more. (However, this will not necessarily decrease the size of the .exe file every time) - Text compression is now on by default. Text compression can be turned off from the command line (or batch file) with the new parameter /CN. Version 1.8 - Fixed problem where English pound sterling symbol "œ" did not survive compression in version 1.7. - When printing, each new section now starts printing on a new page. - Form feed characters (ascii character No. 12) can now be inserted into the text to force a new page when printing. This can be used to ensure that a related information (eg, a table of data) stays together on the same page. Inserting the text *formfeed* in your document will have the same effect as inserting a form feed character. - Immediately after searching for text with the "F"ind option, continuing to press the return key will now have the same effect as pressing the "R"epeat key. - Added the option to have comment lines in your text. Lines beginning with -C- (starting at column 1) will be displayed on screen the same as normal text, but will not be printed or sent to file. Version 2.0 - Added ability to execute other programs from within the viewer programs. This is great for demos and graphic illustrations to enhance your text. Viewer can swap to EMS or disk to make more memory available. - Small arrows are now used to indicate when text extends beyond the right edge of the screen, or beyond the left edge of the screen. - Improved menu layout in text viewer programs. - To return to the viewer menu you can now press "M" or F10 or Esc. Pressing "Q" from the menu now quits the program. Version 2.1 - Added option to suppress the pause for a keypress after executing a program from within the viewer program. - Added option to force no swapping to EMS or disk when executing a program from within the viewer program. This speeds up the execution of small programs when memory is not likely to be limiting. Version 2.2 - Bigtext executables can now display complex, text-based colour images as part of the text. Bigtext now comes with the program "Text Paint" for creating screen images, and the memory resident program "Text Capture" which can pop-up over other programs and capture text screen images in full-colour. Version 2.3 - Added LINK command to link pictures into Bigtext during compilation of the .exe file. - Now handles the new compressed form of Text Paint files. - There are now up to 50 menu types to choose from, made up of ten colour combinations and five styles.
