It resets the video mode of an OS/2 system to the most basic VGA video mode. In cases where a video mode has been selected which is not supported by the hardware and the system appears to be locked up, i.e., the screen is blank and there doesn't appear to be any response from the keyboard or mouse, the user may boot the system using the OS/2 "Installation" and "Disk 1" technique to boot a full screen OS/2 session from the floppy drive and, from this session, apply this procedure to recover control of the system. A: If you are using this procedure to regain control of your computer after installing an unsupported video mode START HERE else go to STEP B. 1. Insert the OS/2 installation disk labeled "Installation Diskette" in drive A: and reboot the computer. 2. When the prompt to "insert Diskette 1" appears, replace the installation disk with "Disk 1" and press Enter. 3. When the prompt to continue appears, press ESCape. After some delay a full screen OS/2 session prompt will appear. B: If you installed OS/2 from diskettes: 1. Be sure RSPDSPI.EXE is in the \OS2\INSTALL directory. If it is, go to step 2.
