PRODUCT : Turbo Debugger NUMBER : 1380 VERSION : 3.x OS : WIN DATE : October 25, 1993 PAGE : 1/1 TITLE : How to use TDW with two color monitors If you want to use TDW on a computer that has two monitors and two video cards, you should use the DUAL8514.DLL. This DLL can be used anytime you have a high-res graphics card and a XGA or VGA card coexisting in the same computer. DO NOT use one of the special dll's with this configuration. Example: If you have a computer with two cards and monitors. One of the cards is a high-res graphics card that drives a large, high resolution monitor. The other card is an XGA or VGA card and you want to see the output of TDW on the XGA monitor while the large monitor displays the Windows output. In the TDW.INI file, set the VideoDLL to point to the DUAL8514.DLL. This will tell TDW to put itself on the normal resolution monitor and leave the high resolution for Windows. If the TDW seems scrambled, try hitting Alt-Space and then R. This will force TDW to repaint itself and will clear up the corruption that can occasionally appear when using an XGA card with TDW. If you have other questions on TDW and the svga dlls, see TI1037 for a complete explanation. Our definition of a High-Res Graphics card is something that does NOT use the same addresses as a regular VGA card. For example, 8514 cards are the most common of these types of cards.
