OWNER : Cluster Owner Program Version 1.61, 21-Apr-1987 SMG Software (C) Copyright 1986,1987 by Steven Georgiades All Rights Reserved This program enables the user to easily determine what file a specified cluster belongs to. The first cluster on any disk is considered by DOS to be #2. Some utilities will check all the clusters on your disk to see if any are bad. But once you know which cluster is bad, you have no easy way of determining what file that cluster belongs to. This program solves that problem. You give it the cluster number in question, and it will search all of the directories on the disk to determine which file "owns" it. Once you have determined which file the cluster belongs to, you can then copy it to another place on the disk, or RECOVER it, or simply delete it. You may then use the MARK program to mark that cluster as bad. Command Format: OWNER [d:] n [[d:] n [...]] d: = Optional Drive Letter n = Cluster Number to Check Examples: OWNER 10 (Will tell what file owns cluster 10 on the default drive) OWNER A: 100 (Will tell what file owns cluster 100 on Drive A:) OWNER D: 5 12 (Will tell what file owns cluster 5 on Drive D:, and what file owns cluster 12 on Drive D:) OWNER 17 A: 7 (Will tell what file owns cluster 17 on the default drive, and what file owns cluster 7 on Drive A:) Revision History: Versions 1.00-1.52 Pre-Release Versions Version 1.60 Added ability to specify drive letter and multiple clusters on command line. Version 1.61 Fixed obscure bug that would cause "Appears to be lost" messages erroneously. Should also run faster in this version.
