TO APPLY THE PATCH AUTOMATICALLY: - If you are in Windows, exit to DOS. - Switch to the directory containing this patch. - Type PINSTALL followed by the directories containing PC Tools for Windows 2.0 and Windows for Workgroups 3.11 and press . Syntax: PINSTALL Example: PINSTALL C:\CPS C:\WINDOWS This will modify some existing PC Tools for Windows files and your system.ini file, as well as add two new files, cp32sup.386 and vfathlp.386, to your Windows system directory. - If this method is unsuccessful, you will have to apply the patch manually. DELETE SENTRY AND 32-BIT FILE ACCESS: Delete Sentry protection is provided by a DOS TSR. Windows for Workgroups 3.11 prevents it from functioning when 32-bit file access is enabled. MIRROR AND 32-BIT FILE ACCESS: Mirror is a DOS program which can be run by Optimizer. Windows for Workgroups 3.11 prevents it from functioning when 32-bit file access is enabled. WINDOWS WON'T START AFTER INSTALLING PATCH: Try removing the DEVICE=VFATHLP.386 line from the Windows SYSTEM.INI file. If Windows will start after removing this line, then you are not using Windows for Workgroups 3.11, or you are using a version of Windows for Workgroups 3.11 that is not identical to the release version. Leave the line out and you can continue to use Windows normally. Try removing both the DEVICE=VFATHLP.386 and DEVICE=CP32SUP.386 lines from the Windows SYSTEM.INI file. If Windows will now start, leave the lines out and continue to use Windows normally. This patch is incompatible with your Windows or system configuration.
