Port-a-Sketch ... Drawing program for the Atari Portfolio. (c) 1990 David Stewart 1280 Royvonne Ave. SE #23 Salem, OR 97302 This program is shareware. Please register (see below). Port-a-Sketch is a simple drawing program, much like an electronic Etch-a- Sketch. As such, it is fairly self-explanatory. To begin, type from the command prompt: SKETCH This will bring up the copyright and instruction screen. Press a key when you're ready, and the screen will blank. You may begin drawing. Use the arrow keys to draw. Use the spacebar to toggle erasing and drawing. Press ESC when you're done. That's it! Some notes: It might be helpful before you start using this program to turn off the keyclick noise that the Portfolio makes. To do so, press Atari-key-S, select sounds, and select keyclick off. It is NOT NECESSARY to do this, but helps preserve one's sanity a bit. Also, the drawing limit is the size of the Portfolio's screen, so you can set the screen modes to normal. This program also works on a desktop PC. WHY YOU SHOULD REGISTER: A. Because this is a copyrighted program. B. Because this program needs enhancements (i.e. a cursor that you can see even during erase mode, ability to save graphics, etc.) that I can't justify worrying about unless I know that my efforts are worth the trouble. C. Because we all need more software on the Portfolio, and I would love to write it ... but I need some money to buy the developer's guide book! D. Because it's only $5 ... HERE'S WHAT YOU GET: For your $5, you'll be a registered user. What's that mean? Well, I'll save your name and address so you can be sent an updated version when it is available. I'll also let you know about other Portfolio programs that I'm developing, and give you special offers on them. HOW TO SAVE SOME MONEY: You could save $5 by not registering at all, but do you want that guilt? How about saving $1 instead by sending in $4 and a good programming idea for the Portfolio? If I implement your idea, you will get a share of the registration profits from it! If I don't, then you still saved a dollar. Not a bad deal, eh? Send your registration check ($5 or $4 and a program idea) to: David Stewart 1280 Royvonne Ave. SE #23 Salem, OR 97302 (Please specify your IBM PC disk size for when I send updates). Technical note: The program was written in Pascal and was compiled with the visible pascal compiler ... a program that is well worth downloading if you have a Portfolio and write in Pascal! If you want the source to Port-a-Sketch, tack an extra $20 onto the registration check, and I'll send that along.
