JASON's LOW-BUDGET SURVEY-PROGRAMS Just the fact that you have taken the time to read this file is a compliment to me. THANKS. This set of programs solves for common land surveying problems (mostly pertaining to roadways) in a plain and simple fashion. These solutions include but aren't limited to vertical curves (even unsymmetrical), superelevation, producing and assessing coordinates relative to a baseline segment, end areas, converting coordinates, and those three intersections problems. In my TERSE MANUAL that I've provided, I neglected to address several issues. I hope to address some of them in this writing. The files themselves: According to my personal computer (a MS-DOS machine) the file specifications are as follows JASON1 32,923 07-13-95 7:05a JASON2 32,917 07-13-95 7:08a JASON3 27,515 07-13-95 7:10a TERSEMAN.TXT 34,845 07-12-95 3:01p I recommend against using the files if after you acquire them, they have different specifications. Down-loading this program to your 48: First plug your serial cable into your PC serial port and plug the other end into the 48. Next start up KERMIT on the PC. At the DOS prompt change directory to where you keep the KERMIT.EXE file then execute it. KERMIT [ENTER] Then set the port to the appropriate port (usually COM1 or COM2). SET PORT COM1 [ENTER] Then set the baud rate. SET BAUD 9600 [ENTER] Next change directory to the dircetory where you have the JASON files. If they are in the root directory of the A: then the command could be this: CD A: [ENTER] CD \ [ENTER] Now on the calculator get to the {HOME} directory and then the I/O menu [|->] ['] to get to {HOME} [<-|] [1] on the GX |IOPAR| [NXT] |I/O| to check & get back to the I/O menu [<-|] [PRG] on the SX and check to see that the parameters are set as: BAUD 9600 PORT WIRE Set them if needed. Now on the 48 press the software key |RECV|. Before the 48 times out, send the appropriate file. On the PC enter the following command: SEND filename [ENTER] where filename is the name of the appropriate file. This should send the appropriate file to your 48. Press the [VAR] key on the 48 to verify this. The file you've deposited in your 48 is a directory and you get into it by pressing the key below its menu position. Anyway, there should be enough material here for you to get along.
