This program is designed as a Flight Management System (FMS).  Flight navigation is based on Dead Reckoning (DR), and the use of GPS position if a GPS engine is connected. (This program support GPS engines with NMEA-0183-GGA protocol and RS232 interface). In navigation mode this program uses the system clock inside the HP48 to estimate time related outputs (Endurance, ETE, ETA, etc.). The distance, heading and track information are determined by using the latitudinal and longitudinal axis and the magnetic variation. Flight plans can be printed on a A4 (or American letter) format, from a standard RS232 ASCI printer.
