(Comp.sys.hp48) Item: 1430 by ervin@pinbot.enet.dec.com [Joseph James Ervin] Subj: Sounds to whet your appetite. :-) Date: 17 Jul 1992 Hello all, I've been working on some special sound code for the HP48 for a while, and although not in its final form, I wanted to share with you all some of what I've done so far. The SND directory contains 6 different sounds, which I think you'll find interesting. They are a far cry from the simple sounds that the HP normally lets you create. Incidentally, this stuff is written in machine language, so for all the diehard system-rpl programmers out there, try doing _this_ in system-rpl :-) >>>Joe SWING: tonal sweep up and down 5 times (good alarm clock sound) 2.26_s SCALE.BIN: the 12 notes in one octave, going up the scale 0.86_s LASER: series of quick sweeps down; sci-fi movie laser noise 0.68_s ALARM.BIN: 4 sweeps up (another good alarm clock sound) 1.31_s PHASER: rapid high/low tones; reminiscent of Star Trek 0.72_s EXPL: sounds like a digitized explosion 1.28_s
