Author: [William C Wickes] Subj: The Sun Rises: HP48 RPL Tools NOW Date: Tue Jul 09 1991 The IBM PC-based HP 48 system RPL development tools I promised in May are now available via ftp at 15.255.72.16, in the directory /ftp-anonymous/pub/rpl. There are two files: TOOLS.EXE, which is a self-extracting archive of the RPL development system (pkzip), and README, which explains how to extract the tools. I apologize for the delay in publishing this material; since my original announcement, we held off to make some changes to the RPL documentation, and then spent some more time waiting for the necessary legaleze to attach to the tool set. There is one missing piece from the tool set: a PC-based library compiler that allows you to build HP 48 libraries from the source code rather than needing to work with an HP 48 directory. We are working on this tool and will release it very soon :-). [See note below. -jkh-] I look forward to a lot of exciting software being developed for the HP 48 using these tools. The file is in /ftp-anonymous/pub/rpl. There are two files: tools.exe, which is a self-extracting archive of the tools, and README, a file that describes how to un-archive the tools. The version that is now there is an updated version of what was posted a week or so ago. It now includes the makerom utility. [Note: that's the "missing" library compiler Bill mentioned. -jkh-] Greg (SYSOP) [Note: The software described above, and complete documentation, is available as EduCALC Goodies Disk #4. Thanx to Bill Wickes, Jim Donnelly, and all the others at HP Corvallis who made these tools available to us! -jkh-]
