REMOTE2 - Universal Remote Control By Dave Marsh (IR I/O) & Rick Grevelle (data compression) Unofficial documentation by Joe Horn After Dave Marsh wrote his REMOTE program (see REMOTE.DOC), Rick Grevelle wrote a version that compressed the IR data string. Dave and Rick then worked on it together. The result is REMOTE2. It hasn't been posted yet, because they are not really pleased with it. But hey, it *works*, so I begged Dave for permission to put it on the next Goodies Disk. Thusly, voil…. It's faster than REMOTE and the IR samples use less memory, but since its timing is a little different, both versions are on this Goodies Disk. If REMOTE2 doesn't work very well for you, try REMOTE before giving up. Keep in mind that some remote controls use IR frequencies and/or data speeds that the HP 48 just can't handle. My CD and cassette decks' IR remote controls' functions can all be handled perfectly by both REMOTE and REMOTE2. Devices made by Murphy Electronics might not work as well... -jkh-
