ÕÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ͸ ³ HORN10 disk of HP 48 software ³ ³ ** The HP 48 Hacker's Disk ** ³ ³ August 3, 1995 ³ ÔÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ; Collected & annotated by Joseph K. Horn, also known as "-jkh-". This is Joe Horn's personal collection of favorite HP 48 goodies, disk #10. It contains many excellent programs and articles by many excellent programmers. Most of these files were downloaded from the Usenet newsgroup "comp.sys.hp48". ÚÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄ¿ ³ This Goodies Disk is dedicated with gratitude ³ ³ to Mika Heiskanen, author of Jazz and a bunch ³ ³ of other massively cool stuff for hackers. ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÙ Use the LIST.COM program (on this disk) or your favorite DOS utility for viewing and printing the files' documentation. Note: TAB chars (ASCII 9) are to be expanded to 8-char wide columns in all doc files. This disk is dedicated to all HP48 "hackers". According to the Hacker's Dictionary, a hacker is "a person who enjoys exploring the details of programmable systems and how to stretch their capabilities, as opposed to most users who prefer to learn only the minimum necessary; one who programs enthusiastically (even obsessively) or who enjoys programming rather than just theorizing about programming." Since this disk is targeted at hackers, who are natural explorers and are always in the top 1% intellectually, fancy document viewers (like in Goodies Disk #9) and cute hand-holding comments have been omitted. Besides many useful programs, libraries, and articles, you will also find the many commented source code files of great value in your search for System RPL and Assembly Language expertise. ÕÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ͸ ³ S? SX? G? GX? ³ ÔÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ; Whether a program will run on the HP48 S/SX and/or the G/GX is indicated in each program's documentation. Running a program on the wrong machine will almost certainly cause a Memory Clear, but will not harm the calculator's hardware. Real hackers are used to getting occasional wipeouts and back up their memory frequently. ÕÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ͸ ³ SUBDIRECTORIES ³ ÔÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ; The files are contained in subject-oriented subdirectories. List FILEINFO.SRC for a complete listing of all the files and a brief description of each. 4DOS was used to "attach" these descriptions onto every file and subdirectory on the disk; if you use 4DOS or NDOS, you will enjoy using it with the Goodies Disks. If you use 4DOS version 5.0 or above, you'll also see the authors' names. ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ» º Note: Everything on this disk is either freeware or º º shareware. If you use the shareware, please register º º as instructed. PLEASE DO give copies of this disk to º º everybody! (But if you do, please don't change the º º contents.) º ÈÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍͼ Files with the same name before the extension are all related. For example, FRED would be a downloadable binary; FRED.SRC would be its source code (possibly commented); etc. To copy a file into the HP 48, you MUST specify the entire name; e.g. "FRED.LIB". I have tried to provide documentation of some sort for every file on this disk. If you know who wrote a file "by ?", please let me know so that proper credit may be given. Thanx. Apologies to those whose files I accidentally mangled while editing and reformatting for the DOC program. Warm thanks to all authors whose works appear here. Good job!
