It is easy to use and has context-sensitive help. There are numerous reports, some perhaps unique, including pedigree charts, lineage charts, relationship diagrams, register charts, descendancy charts, timeline reports, various lists and narrative reports which automatically construct your data into sentences. A text editor can be used to record notes on each person and family and PCX files can be linked into the database. It includes Gedcom for trading data with other programs and has a built in backup and restore feature. Requires 640k, DOS v3.3 or later, and hard disk. Long Description: Family Scrapbook is a powerful genealogical database system. It is an useful tool for anyone that wishes to use a computer for recording family history research. Features: * It sports a user friendly interface with help screens. It is very easy to browse through and edit your data. Has search lists for names and dates. * It easily handles awkward family situations such as: illegitimate births, couples that never married, only one parent known, annullments, and separations. * It has GEDCOM import/export abilities so that you can trade data with other genealogy programs. If you currently use a genealogy program and it supports GEDCOM, converting over to FSB is easy! * It offers specialized screens for entering data like name changes, social security number info, and last known address... * You cam record a virtually unlimited number of events per person. (baptized, christened, retired, immigrated, census, Bar Mitzva, employed, graduation, etc.) If the event type that you want is not listed, you can add it to the list. * It has a "notes" feature that allows you to use a text editor to maintain notes on each person and family. * It has online 4 and 5 generation pedigree charta so that you can immediately view a person's ancestors. The program can print charts of 4, 5, 6, and even 7 generations! * Generates Tiny Tafels and soundex codes. It includes the Tiny Tafel Editor program which is probably the easiest TT creator, editor, and matching report generator available today. * It has a built-in backup and restore facility. * It has a sophisticated source recording feature which allows you to record a virtually unlimited number of source citations, including repository info, per person and family record. It automatically constructs bibliographic references for some reports. * Ability to hotkey to external programs that you specify. * It has a Document Filer feature that allows you to catalog your "stuff" that you have collected (photographs, photocopies, etc.) It helps you control the paper clutter that is often a part of a research project. * PCX graphic files can be linked into the database. * Numerous reports...too many to mention them all, but some include a new narrative feature which can take the names, dates, and places that you have recorded and construct sentences and paragraphs automatically for you.
