NOTICE ====== This Version of Re-RAR is WORK IN PROGRESS - it is a wide beta release. Use it on your own risk and please report and bugs to us as fast as possible. And thus... no proper docs, yet. REVISION HISTORY ================ Symbols used: - Bugfix ! Changed Feature + New Featue * Information/Clarification Re-RAR 1.0 Beta-2 over Re-RAR 1.0 Beta-1 * Multiple Volume Archives are _NOT_ supported! Please take great care when doing automatic conversions. Example: ARCHIVE.ARJ ARCHIVE.A01 and ARCHIVE.A02 are in the current directory. The default settings in RERAR.CFG have not been changed. What Re-RAR is going to do when called with *.*, it will try to unpack ARCHIVE.ARJ correctly, but the last file will probably not correct. It will then try to call ARC (because A01 matches A## and is also the format for compressed nodelists) which of course is going to fail. If you have any idea how to solve this (without requiring Re-RAR to check each individual archive for presence of a multiple-volume flag), please let us know. * We have been asked to include a couple of new functions such as - verbally decode the RAR errorlevels - log functions - optionally update FILES.BBS, replacing the old file-extension with the converted extension (RAR or similar) plus possibly importing a FILE_ID.DIZ or DESC.SDI This will all have to wait until a solution has been found for reducing memory requirements. All of these are scheduled but will not be included yet. Maybe next release. - If a comment file was included through the REPACK keyword, RAR would refuse to repack the archive and return with a File Creation Error. Fixed. - RAR-archive-conversion would only work under very special circum- stances. Should be fixed now. - The ADD keyword would only accept one file from the root-directory. Fixed. ! To display the program information, specify either /? or /H or -? or call Re-RAR without any parameters. ! The REPACK option has been changed and now has the same format as the UNPACK commands. If you are upgrading from á1, make sure you make that change, otherwise the repacking will not work anymore! Example: Version 1.0á1 REPACK m -r Version 1.0á2+ REPACK RAR RAR.EXE m -r You may ask, what's all that for? Well.. so on could use Re-RAR as a platform for converting archives into other formats than RAR. Of course that would be pretty silly, but certainly there are some of these people out there :)) Refer to RERAR.CFG for other examples. + Added LOG keyword - the function itself will be available for registered users only, but currently, it has no effect. Refer to the second paragraph in this information block. Errorlevels returned by Re-RAR ============================== 0 - Everything processed okay 1 - Infoscreen shown (no wildcard or filename specified) 2 - No files found matching commandline 3 - Some error occured during conversion (probably external packer) 4 - Unable to locate RERAR.CFG 5 - No Unpack-Commands specified in RERAR.CFG, execution terminated 9 - One or more viruses found in archives
