The MSGCVT.COM program will convert a message base to the 16.00/17.00 format. It does not delete any files, so after it is been run without problem, you can save disk space by going in and deleting any *.MSG that are found. MSGCVT does not automatically process all areas, you must change directory manually to the area to be converted. To the actual directory where the old *.MSG files are stored. Ken Thompson has written a program called FIXMSG that is available from many GT BBSs. It can make this process alot easier by automatically changing directories and running MSGCVT for you. Regards, Paul PS: MSGCVT need only be run by those upgrading to 17.00 from versions prior to 16.00... otherwise, it should not be run.
