This PPE was also written to be 100% SYSOP configurable. You may edit EVERY SCREEN, PROMPT COLORS, USER PROMPTS etc. The idea behind this is of course to allow the SYSOP to blend this PPE into the color and style format of their BBS. BUT, if you like it the way it comes "OUT OF THE BOX", it can be left as it is, or edited mildly. It is entirely at the SYSOPs discression as to how this PPE appears to his/her users. Once registered, there is NO-LIMIT as to the number of internet sites/addresses (URL's) that you may have in your COOLSITE DATABASE. Anyone on your BBS (that you as the sysop permit of course) can enter URLS into the database, edit their urls and even delete urls that they have entered. Users may also download these URLS in a wide variety of ways, and in two different formats. TEXT and HTML. Text, is of course self explainitory. In HTML (Hypertext Markup Language), the file can then be placed in your home directory with your service provider or access it locally from your web browser, and use whatever you've captured from the COOLSITE PPE as a link of sites to utilize when on the internet "SURFING THE NET!" COOLSITE.CF1 - Main Configuration File -------------------------------------- This is the MAIN configuration file that controls the appearance of the COOLSITE PPE. If you want to skip past this, be sure to take close look at COOLSITE.CF1,CF2, and CF3. They're pretty straight forward. Be sure to edit these files prior to running the PPE, otherwise it might not work quite right! For more information on each line in each config file, READ ON! LINE 1 ) Put the SYSOP's name here. If you've REGISTERED this PPE, then the name you enter here must match EXACTLY as it was submitted when you registered. This is case sensitive! LINE 2 ) The name of your BBS. Again, if you've REGISTERED this PPE, the BBS name entered here must match EXACTLY as it was submitted when you registered. This is case sensitive! LINE 3 ) REGISTRATION CODE #1. If you have NOT registered this PPE the number on this line should be left at 0. LINE 4 ) REGISTRATION CODE #2. If you have NOT registered this PPE the number on this line should be left at 0. LINE 5 ) This PPE has built in color defaults. If "Y" is entered on this line, none of the remaining options will affect the appearance of the PPE, as a set of pre-selected colors that are BUILT INTO this PPE will be used, and the remaining options in this configuration file will be ignored! Entering a "N", will NOT use the built in defaults, but rather whatever you enter in the configuration file will be used! LINE 6 ) Put the COMPLETE path to the location where you want the PPE to place the files that are generated by the COOLSITE PPE for the user to download IMPORTANT NOTE : Make sure that this path is placed in the BBS's PATH! If not, the file will not be found when the user tries to download it! If the "DEFAULT SETTINGS" are used, the files will be created in the same directory as your COOLSITE PPE is installed in. Be sure to adjust your path to include this directory so your users will be able to download their files! * LINE 7 ) Input screen border color * LINE 8 ) Input screen border and shadow color * LINE 9 ) Color of Text used when prompting user for information * LINE 10) Highlight 1 color used when prompting user for information * LINE 11) Highlight 2 color used when prompting user for information * LINE 12) Seperator Color (ie: Dashes, Brackets, Colons, etc) * LINE 13) Color used for Help Line Text (Should be a reversed field color for best effect! * LINE 14) Reversed Input Field Color for entering data in input fields Again, this color should be a REVERSE color field. * LINE 15) Colorized prompt for "PRESS ANY KEY TO CONTINUE" * LINE 16) Colorized main menu prompt "Select Options 1-5 or Q to Quit" * LINE 17) Colorized prompt for "VIEW URLS menu prompt" * LINE 18) Colorized prompt for "DOWNLOAD URLS menu prompt" NOTE : The '*' beside line numbers 7-18 indicate changes to these lines will ONLY BE USED if you turn the LINE #5 option to "N" for do not use built in defaults. If the defaults are used, then any changes to lines 7-18 will be ignored when COOLSITE runs! COOLSITE.CF2 - Security Access Configuration File ------------------------------------------------- This configuration file allows the SYSOP to set up user's that he/she would like to have unconditional access to the maintenance of the Coolsite database. Placing a persons name into this file will allow then complete and unconditional access to adding, editing and deleting of any and all urls in the database.
