ADDENDUM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The day I finished REMOVE-IT and uploaded it to a BBS I know to check it out, I found out that automatically, the line "PASSED THROUGH ... " was added to the FILE_ID.DIZ. I asked the sysop, "Why are you doing it?" and he said "Everybody does that. I can't stay behind..." So I told him I will write a DIZ unwanted lines remover. And that I did. A. USAGE REMLINE.EXE filename.ext phrases.lst filename.ext - filename to check, usually FILE_ID.DIZ. phrases.lst - a file with all the phrases you want REMLINE to remove. REMLINE scans the file line by line for the phrases. If it finds a line containing one of the phrases, it removes that line from the file. The result is a "PURE" file.
