Required Area for CONCORD-FDN Membership. CONCORD Gamma and Public Releases of Concord BBS. CBBSTOOL Concord Utilities. Echo Area Name Area Description -------------- ----------------- PASIREG Private echo for Registration/Support Sites only. CONCORD Fidonet distributed public echo for General discussion and information on Concord BBS software and utility releases. CONCORD-FDN is now part of the IFDC Filegate. IFDC is a file distribution network, sponsored by US Robotics, for the distribution of software, to ALL Fidonet Zones. On the approval of the International Coordinator, the IFDC will also distribute files submitted by CONCORD-FDN to other file distribution services, such as and not limited to; Fidonet Filebone, PageSat Satellite System, Planet Connect, and with special permission from/through the U.S. Coordinator, Internet. 1. CONHATCH has been setup to provide an area for authors or their represenatatives, to be able to hatch submissions into the CONCORD-FDN. Files sent to this area will be transmitted to 1:203/730 directly, or through 2:2490/2003, with a compatible TIC program for review, testing, and distribution by the International Coordinator. Authors submitting files to this area understand that files submitted may not meet the requirements or standards of the CONCORD-FDN. Files not meeting the requirements or standards of CONCORD-FDN will not be submitted for distribution. As of November 1, 1995, all nodes will be required to add the CONHATCH file echo to their TIC configuration file. Nodes will not release a file sent to CONHATCH, to any other CONCORD-FDN file echo area. The CONHATCH file area will be an UPLOAD only area. Nodes will TIC all releases to the Coordinator in their respective Zones. Zone 2 will release files to Ralf Ulbrich at 2:2490/2003. All Zones coordinators release files from the CONHATCH to Len Morgan at 1:203/730. CONCORD and CBBSTOOLS shall be a DOWNLOAD area only. No uploads will be allowed to these areas, since all releases must be submitted for approval and preparation for submission into the IFDC Filegate to these areas. Authors or their authorized agents are encouraged to send releases of their software to 1:203/730 (V.Everything) or 2:2490/2003 V34/VFC for review. Authors or their designated agents are also encouraged to logon to QST BBS (+1-916-920-1288) USR HST/DS V.Everything or Mustang BBS (+011-49-911-500840) V34/VFC, or any member site, anytime and upload their files for review, to the CONHATCH file area. Files my be sent via land mail to the International Coordinator at: Len Morgan P.O. Box 13965 Sacramento, CA 95853-3965 USA OR European Coordinator at: Ralf Ulbrich Postfach 100 331 90565 Schwaig, Germany 2. Files are referred to as Libraries, Object code, Source code or executables. All program files entered into the CONHATCH file area must include documentation and be functional. Please do not upload CrippleWare or VaporWare to this area. Public Domain and Shareware are the only files that will be accepted. ShareWare is designed as software that can be used for a specified period of time, to evaluate the software, before purchasing it. Public Domain is software released with no test period or paid registration, to use it. CrippleWare are programs that are not fully operational unless registered. VaporWare are programs that will cease to work, after a given number of days. Under no circumstances will we accept any illegal or pirated software! 3. We have established a private echo for Registration and Support sites called PASIREG. This echo is ONLY for the use of Registration and Support Sites in each Zone, and is for the administration of Concord software. 4. We have established a General discussion Fidonet echo called CONCORD for the dissemination of information and instruction of Concord. This echo also, provides Registration/Support Sites a direct access to General users of our product. 5. ALL CONCORD-FDN nodes will establish session passwords with their up/downlinks to ensure security. 6. All files that your system receives, should have the CRC checked by your TIC program, as it is processed. No advertisements should be put into the archive while the file is still being sent to another node. The CONCORD-FDN is not to be used as a means to advertise, but to distribute software. Adding any files to the archives will cause the CRC to no longer be valid and will stop the further distribution of the software. The original file shall not be changed during transmission to the International or European Coordinator and shall be released into the CONCORD or CBBSTOOL file areas only by the International Coordinator. 7. It is possible that nodes may receive a request to add a new file area or wish to make one themselves. All nodes should make a formal request in the PASIREG echo for discussion, then after a sufficient amount of time, determined and approved by the CONCORD-IC, the new area may be created. All nodes will add this area to their TIC processors. 8. The CONCORD-FDN is open to everyone. If any node introduces a proposal to their downstream nodes, to share in the cost of distribution of CONCORD-FDN files, the cost shall be fair to all concerned. There shall be consent by those participating in the cost sharing. Any node who will not, or cannot share in the cost of distribution, may request a new feed for the CONCORD-FDN, when such feed is available. When no such feed is available, that node may request a waiver for a specified period of time from his original feed. 9. Files submitted to the CONCORD-FDN, will not be accepted for inclusion into CONHATCH, if the authors or their representatives are also submitting such files to other File Distribution Networks that participate in the IFDC Filegate. A list of such FDN's will be published from time to time to inform everyone what these FDN's are. Authors who submit their files to two FDN's participating in the IFDC Filegate, may post a message in CONCORD that such file is available, and where it can be obtained, however, their release will not be allowed in CONHATCH. Each member site, shall post such announcments, in a special bulletin on their BBS, for the CONHATCH file area, with a list of the current FDN's participating in the IFDC. From time to time, the International Coordinator will post such a listing, in the PASIREG echo. 10. A Zone Coordinator shall be assigned to each Fidonet Zone. That Coordinators duties shall be to accept members into the CONCORD-FDN, after the applicant has received and acknowledged compliance with the policy of the CONCORD-FDN. It shall be the Zone Coordinators duties to see that all members are in compliance with this document. Any problems that are not covered by this document, shall be discussed with the International Coordinator in Netmail or the PASIREG echo. The Zone Coordinator will be responsible for distribution of prepared files, from the International Coordinator, eithier through direct transfer from those sites or the IFDC Filegate. They shall submit files or programs to the International Coordinator, uploaded into the CONCORD-FDN CONHATCH area, directly to the International Coordinator or to the IFDC Filegate GEDHATCH area. 11. Any changes/deletions to this policy should be coordinated with Len Morgan, the International Coordinator at 1:203/730, and will be discussed in the PASIREG echo. End.....
