Needed Hardware and software

        Basically there should not be any reasons why you can
        not run this program with all 386+ systems with VESA 1.2
        compatible video card, however the screen mode 640x480 with 256
        colors needs almost five times more processing power compared to
        standard VGA mode with 256 colors. Therefore at least a
        486DX2/66 processor is recommended. 4MB's of memory is required.
        If you video card's BIOS does not support VBE 2.0, try loading UniVBE.
        Supported sound cards are Sound Blaster 1.0/2.0/Pro and Gravis
        Ultrasound.

        Do not try to run this under any kind of multitaskin
        environment (eg. Windows, OS/2).


        Trouble shoting

        Machine hangs

        þ Make sure you are not runing the program under any kinds of
          multitasking environment (Windows or OS/2).
        þ Avoid DPMI memory managers
        þ Make sure the NOEMS switch is not set for EMM386 in config.sys

        No sounds can be heard

        þ If you have a Sound Blaster clone, try loading it's initialization
          program before runing The Invitation.
        þ Make sure your sound card is properly connected
        þ Make sure ULTRASND and/or BLASTER environment variables are set
          correctly. eg. BLASTER=A220 I5 D1 T4, ULTRASND=220,1,3,7,11.
        þ Make sure there is enought DRAM memory on your Ultrasound sound card.
        þ Make sure ULTRINIT.EXE is loaded

        Screen flickers

        * Try loading UniVBE
