Windows 3.1 Sound Driver for Computers with the Tandy DAC Chip This Driver will work with the following Tandy Computers: 1000RSX 2500RSX 2500SX 2500SX/20 2500SX/25 These drivers enable Windows to access the Sound Chip. As a result, the user can use the sound capabilities of Windows. This disk contains the following files-- TDACWAVE.DRV OEMSETUP.INF README.TXT In order to obtain a printout of this README.TXT file, insert this disk in Drive A, make sure the printer is switched on, is on line, and at the C:\> prompt, type the following command-- PRINT A:README.TXT and press . INSTALLATION 1. Start up your computer. 2. Insert this diskette in Drive A. 3. At the C:\> prompt, type in CD \WINDOWS and press . 4. Type in WIN and press . 5. Access the Main window. 6. Run the Control Panel from the Main window. 7. Select the Drivers icon. 8. Select the Add button. 9. In the List of Drivers box, select Add Unlisted or Updated Driver and then choose the OK button. 10. Change drive name displayed in the dialog box to A: containing this disk. 11. Select the OK button. 12. Select Tandy DAC Wave from the list and choose the OK button. This should install the Windows Sound Drivers. ADVANCED INSTALLATION NOTES: TDACWAVE.DRV supports a section in the SYSTEM.INI file titled [tdacwave.drv]. This section may have any or none of the following parameters: port= int= dmachannel= where the port is a hexadecimal value, int is the IRQ setting in decimal, and DMAchannel is the DMA channel in decimal. If port is not specified, the driver will attempt to obtain this value from a BIOS call. If dmachannel is not specified, the driver will default to DMA Channel 1. If int is not specified, the driver will default to interrupt 7. NOTE: * TDACWAVE.DRV does not create the [tdacwave.drv] section. If the system needs to override the driver's default values for any of the above parameters, the SYSTEM.INI file will have to be edited by hand.
