The reason it won't work is because the SOUND.DRV file is actually the BLASTER.DRV that came with the sound blaster. I somehow got the original file names to appear in the DRV_DIR directory when re-installing it after messing it up trying to install the GUS drivers. So, until Gravis comes out with a BLASTER.DRV replacement, we can't do anything. --- J.J. Thanks. > The ultrasnd.ini file is used by the Windows driver, so if you are using your GUS in Win, then you must also have ultrasnd.ini lying around somewhere. However, emuset uses ultramid.ini, not ultrasnd.ini. Ultramid.ini can be found in the GUS AIL package on Epas. Place it in your /ultrasnd/midi directory. > Date: Thu, 2 Sep 1993 10:29:31 -0400 (EDT) > From: "Adam K. Setup the game for PC speaker sounds and SB music, and then copy gf1midi.adv over midi.drv. That should work (at least it worked on the playable demo). You can even delete all the *.adv files and the game will still run with full sound and music on the SB or the Roland. So copying the GUS drivers over top the SB or Roland drivers in the /wca directory will not accomplish anything. I thought maybe the game inserted the *.adv files on the install disks into PAK files during installation, but copying GF1DIGI.ADV and GF1MIDI.ADV over topy of SBDIG.ADV and MT32MPU.ADV on the install disks and then doing a complete re-install didn't affect anything. Oh well. The game does sound very nice with Mega-Em, though.
