TAE (What? You want another missing SDK-DIGEST?) Anybody got a multi-layer patch file example? Okay, here's a weird one. Several of the drum patches have a low/high freq that makes its root out of place. For example (from PATCHIS), F:\SND\GUS\MIDI\SURDO2.PAT GF1PATCH110ID#000002Copyright 1992,1993 EYE&I Productions and Advanced Gravis Instrs: 1 Vocs: 14 Chs: 0 Wavs: 1 MstVol: 127 DataSize: 19200 Following Instr#: 0 null_instr_name Layers: 1 InstSize: 19335 Following Layer#: 0 DupFlag: 0 Samples: 1 LayerSize: 19288 Wave:1 @ 000EFh NoName Sz: 4AF8h Low: 1244.507 Root: 870.183 High: 1244.507 SRHz: 16025 LpStart: 493Eh FracSt: 14 LpEnd: 4AD8h FracEnd: 0 Tune: 512 Bal: 8 ERt: 3F C2 82 82 81 3F EVl: F5 F0 C8 A0 08 08 S/R/D AM:00 00 00 FM:00 00 00 Scale Freq: 80 Factor: 1024 Modes:47h=16/uns/LpEn/uni/lpfwd/nosust/EnvEn/nocr The Low: and High: are odd, wouldn't you say? Is there an explanation for this or is it just a bug (or what)? Someone also mentioned a replacement patch for #127. That RINGWHSL.PAT is irksome. Got a name for this file? Is it one of the 808* zips on epas? Anyone know what Scale Freq & Factor are used for? And is it just me, or don't answers get posted here? And is that FracStart correct? Doesn't Gravis spec/advertise a fractional loop end and not start (though the hardware takes both)? It'd be nice to see some sort of reply. Hate to think I'm putting keystrokes on my keyboard writing to myself. ------------------------------ End of GUS Programmer's Digest V4 #10 ************************************* To post to tomorrow's digest: To (un)subscribe or get help: To contact a human (last resort): FTP sites: archive.epas.utoronto.ca pub/pc/ultrasound wuarchive.wustl.edu systems/msdos/ultrasound Hints: - Get the FAQ from the FTP sites or the request server. - Mail to for info about other GUS related mailing lists (UNIX, OS/2, GUS-MIDI, etc.)
