TweakBIOS Short Introduction First of all, TweakBIOS is *not* a TSR. It does *not* take up any memory, once you exit it. The settings you make in the program will be in effect until the computer is turned off or re-booted. The user interface if TweakBIOS very much resembles the Award BIOS. Use the arrow keys to move between the different settings, and PageUp/PageDown or +/- to change them. On the right side of the screen you see information about your chipset, cache, memory configuration and memory timings. The timings shown in yellow are the ones that people most often use to compare memory timings. Many of the settings in this program *don't* affect these timings, but they *still* make your computer faster! To apply the settings, press F10. If the settings are too fast for your computer, it might freeze at this stage. With the registered version of this program you can save your favourite settings to a file, and automatically load them each time you start your computer! You can do that by running TweakBIOS in your autoexec.bat: C:\DIR\TWEAK.EXE /LOAD where 'DIR' is the name of the directory that contains TweakBIOS. If you still have the courage to use the program, here are some general tips for the different settings: - generally, a smaller value is faster - enabled is *usually* better than disabled For more info on the settings, see: http://www.miro.pair.com/tweakbios/ Miro Wikgren, July 1st, 1997.
