The PB450 motherboard is identified by OPTi 82C802 chipset, Cirrus Logic video chip, 2 72-pin SIMM slots at front of board, 2 VL-Bus slots used to support an ISA or a PCI riser card. Packard Bell has used both Phoenix 4.03 and 4.05 BIOS code on the PB450 motherboard. The main difference is that the 4.05 code supports a PCI riser card or an ISA riser card, the 4.03 code supports only an ISA riser card. We have included self-extracting diskette images of BIOS recovery disks for both the 4.03 BIOS and the 4.05 BIOS. These image files create recovery disks only on a 1.44MB diskettes. To create the recovery disk, type in the filename (PB450.EXE, or PB450403.EXE), the program will detect which drive, if any, is a 1.44MB, and will ask for a blank, high-density diskette to be inserted into that drive. It doesn't matter if this disk is blank or whether or not it has been formatted - it will be completely overwritten. Use PB450.EXE for Phoenix 4.05.7.00 PB450PC release x3.03 Use PB450403.EXE for Phoenix 4.03 PB450MPA+ PNP release 1.1A Please refer to the included file, PB450REC.TXT, for instructions on using the recovery disk. NOTE - We provide this BIOS recovery disk as a public service to anyone who needs it. Please contact your system vendor for any technical support on your system, including this BIOS. Our techincal support department exists to support our own BIOS upgrades. ====================================================================== Micro Firmware Technical Support ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Voice 405-321-8333 email support@firmware.com Fax 405-321-8342 WWW http://www.firmware.com BBS 405-573-5538 FTP ftp://ftp.firmware.com ====================================================================== 04/13/98 TLS
