====================================================================== Title: README File for Anigma LP4IP1 Recovery Disk ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Author: Terry Slade, Micro Firmware Technical Support Revision: 06/13/97 ====================================================================== The file LP4IP1.EXE is a self-extracting diskette image of a BIOS recovery disk for the Anigma LP4IP1 motherboard. This is a 486 PCI motherboard used by Gateway 2000. Please insure you have the Anigma LP4IP1 before using this disk. GW2K has used several other Anigma boards with similar names and numbers. This motherboard is identified by the presence of the Intel Aries chipset (82425EX and 82426EX chips), 3 SIMM slots at the front of the board, and a double PCI slot supporting a riser card with ISA and PCI expansion slots. The model number LP4IP1 is silkscreened onto the underside of the board. This model number may also appear on a bar code sticker along with the serial number. The Gateway 2000 part number for this board is MBDPCI004AxWW. This board is also called the Aries Integrated. This image file creates a recovery disk only on a 1.44MB diskette. To create the recovery disk, type in the filename (LP4IP1.EXE), the program will detect which drive, if any, is a 1.44MB, and will ask for a blank, high-density diskette to be inserted into that drive. It doesn't matter if this disk is blank or whether or not it has been formatted - it will be completely overwritten. The resulting BIOS recovery disk will contain a copy of the original BIOS, Phoenix 4.04.D, for this motherboard. Please refer to the included file, LP4IP1RC.TXT, for instructions on using this recovery disk. Due to a NON-DOS boot sector, this diskette cannot be duplicated by just copying the files, but can be duplicated with the DOS DISKCOPY command. NOTE - We provide this BIOS recovery disk as a public service to anyone who needs it. Please contact your system vendor for any technical support on your system, including this BIOS. Our techincal support department exists to support our own BIOS upgrades. ====================================================================== Micro Firmware Technical Support ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Voice 405-321-8333 email support@firmware.com Fax 405-321-8342 WWW http://www.firmware.com BBS 405-573-5538 FTP ftp://ftp.firmware.com Sales 800-767-5465 CIS GO PCVEND Section 8 ======================================================================
