   README File for Batman's Revenge Recovery Disk       TLS 02/11/98

The file BATREV.EXE is a self-extracting diskette image of a
BIOS recovery disk for the Intel Batman's Revenge motherboard.

This motherboard uses the Intel Mercury chipset (82433LX x2,
82434LX, 82378IB/ZB). The original BIOS version is 1.00.xx.AF2
or 1.00.xx.AF2T (or any fourth character in the suffix,
indicating an OEM version - the T indicates Gateway 2000).

The board can also be identified by the AA or PBA number. This
number would have to be looked up by Intel's technical support.

This image file creates a recovery disk only on a 1.44MB diskette.

To create the recovery disk, type in the filename (BATREV), the
program will detect which drive, if any, is a 1.44MB, and will ask
for a blank, high-density diskette to be inserted into that drive.
It doesn't matter if this disk is blank or whether or not it has
been formatted - it will be completely overwritten.

The resulting BIOS recovery disk will contain a copy of the original
BIOS, 1.00.08.AF2, for this motherboard. 

Gateway 2000 differentiates between two revisions of this board,
which they call 586PCI3 and 586PCI4. The 1.00.08.AF2 BIOS is the
newest version they use in the 586PCI3 board. 1.00.10.AF2T is the
newset BIOS version used by GW2K in the 586PCI4 board. 

Please refer to the included file, BTREVREC.TXT, for instructions on
using this recovery disk.

NOTE - We provide this BIOS recovery disk as a public service to
anyone who needs it. Please contact your system vendor for any
technical support on your system, including this BIOS. Our techincal
support department exists to support our own BIOS upgrades.
