OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS The enclosed ADI printer driver PPFUJI36.COM has been developed for FUJITSU 24-wire printers of the DL series in DPL24C PLUS emulation with a maximum resolution of 360 * 360 dots per inch. ADI provides the same functionality and performance as the standard device drivers used for AutoCAD and AutoSketch. As opposed to other common AutoCAD drivers the ADI drivers have to be loaded before starting AutoCAD. They are residing in the main memory. 1. Printer Installation Before starting with the printing set the printer to the following values: EMULATE: DPL24C PLUS for 8-color printers COLOR: AUTOSEL (only for 8-color printers) LF-Code: LF only CR-Code: CR only 2. Driver Installation Copy the driver via the following command onto your harddisk: COPY A:PPFUJI36.COM C: for AutoCAD 3. Usage of the Driver with AutoCAD Before starting AutoCAD you first have to load the driver PPFUJI36.COM for FUJITSU 24 pin dot matrix printers, which are driven by the DPL 24C PLUS command set. Proceed according to the following syntax: C:\ACAD>PPFUJI36 /M - monochrome printout C:\ACAD>PPFUJI36 /C - color printout C:\ACAD>PPFUJI36 /F - output into a file If you want to delete the driver that is loaded residentially from your main memory, enter the filename PPFUJI36. If the driver is to be loaded automatically then PPFUJI36.COM has to be entered together with the right parameter in the AUTOEXEC.BAT batch file. If ADI is used for the first time together with AutoCAD the program must be configured. Thus, select the option "Configure AutoCAD" from the AutoCAD main menu. In case AutoCAD is already configured you are automatically set into the configuration mode when starting the program. Regarding the item "Configure PRINTER PLOTTER" the ADI printer plotter must be selected. If this option is not available in the program, in any case you must check whether your AutoCAD version comprises all drivers (files with the extension .DRV) and whether they have been installed into your program. An UPDATE diskette can be obtained from your AutoCAD dealer, if necessary. After selection of the ADI printer plotter the following setting ought to be taken into account when using the FUJITSU 24-wire printers of the DL series. A __________________________________________________________________ When entering the format you have the following input possibilities: - A4, if your printer is to proceed A4 paper - MAX, if you want to make use of the entire width of the printer After the installation you have to abandon the configuration menu. In doing so, the changed setting is saved. 5. General Hints for Usage Due to the limited capacity of the main memory the color printers can only be selected with 8 pins. This cannot be changed because of programming reasons. We hope you understand our situation. The result is a slower printout than in the case of a white-and-black printout, but the print quality is the same.
