BJ-200e Windows Driver Version 1.0 Readme.txt file December 1, 1993 ***************************************************************** Thank you for purchasing the Canon BJ-200e printer! We are certain that you'll find the Canon BJ-200e printer an invaluable tool for all your printing needs. As with most software and hardware products, information is made available after the development of the manual. Updated information regarding the BJ-200e is provided in this readme file. Should the information in this readme file be inaccurate or you require further explanation, please contact Canon's Help Desk at 1-800-423-2366. The following technical notes are provided to assist you with your new printer: 1. Windows 3.0 users need to copy the WINHELP.EXE file from the provided floppy disk to their Windows directory to ensure that help is accessible from Windows 3.0. 2. The Print Manager should be turned off when Manual Feed is selected. Printing Envelopes ================== When printing envelopes with BJ-200e and auto sheet feeder, move the paper thickness selection lever on the auto sheet feeder to the forward position. This will result in the best paper handling for envelopes. Also, make sure to print with the option 'Print Current Page' or set the print range to be from '1' to '1'. This will ensure that the application will not prompt you to insert a second envelope after printing. Since envelopes are fed horizontally on the BJ200e printer, in some applications you may need to change your orientation setting. Application Notes ================= This section contains the latest information regarding how to use your BJ-200e and its Windows driver version 1.0 with various Windows application programs. Excel 4.0 (Microsoft) In Excel, changes to the Page Setup in the Print menu do not take effect immediately. After closing Page Setup, re-open the dialog box and select the same options again to ensure that Excel recognizes the changes and implements them. Printing text at the limits of the right-hand margin may result in text overlapping. Image-In 3.1a (Image-In) The "Use Color" option in the Print Setup for Image-In may result in the image being unclear or "Not enough memory to print" error message. Make sure the "Use Color" option is not checked when printing with Black & White or Grayscale. General Information =================== Since some applications do not query the driver for multiple-copy availability, printing multiple copies may not work.
