Yes Use existing configuration information? Yes Do you have adapter option diskettes? Yes Are you configuring for two adapters? No Do you need 802.2 interface support? Yes Source for LSP A:\ Target for new configuration C:\lsp Make sure that the values given above are correct, then press to store your choices. 5) Insert the "NDC ND5300 driver diskette" in floppy A,and specify your pathname A:\LANSRV.DOS,then press ENTER. 6) Follow screen instructions to complete the process. Simply pressing for each screen display will select the default options. Press until you reach the display prompting you to insert the LSP diskette. 7) Insert the LSP diskette as prompted. Press to acknowledge completion of the action. 8) A screen showing the current configuration detected will be displayed. It should show the "ND5300 Plug and Play Ethernet Adapter" and the protocols already selected (i.e., "IBM IEEE 802.2" and "IBM OS/2 NETBIOS"). 9) Press . to save the new configuration. This completes the LSP installation. 10) Save the configuration and reboot your computer. 11) Insert the DOS LAN Requester Install Diskette 1 into your floppy drive. 12) Type A:\INSTALL 13) The IBM logo will again appear on the screen. Press to move on to the next screen. 14) Follow screen instructions, pressing to move from screen-to-screen until you are prompted to indicate the pathname of the DOS LAN Requester directory (C:\DOSLAN ). 15) Specify the pathname (C:\DOSLAN is the default) for the DOS LAN Requester directory . Then press to continue. 16) The program will ask you for the services that you require. 17) Highlight the appropriate option. Select either "Send messages" or "Send, View, Edit, and Log message" option. (Normally, second option "Send, View, Edit and Log message" is selected). 18) Specify the PC's ID and domain ID. 19) Follow screen prompts to complete the installation. Note : ----- DOS version must be bellow DOS 5.0 when installing DOS LAN requester into your DOS system. NDC ND5300 Plug and Play Ethernet Adapter NDIS Driver for IBM OS/2 LAN Server 2.0 Server Installation ============================================================== Location of Driver: \LANSRV.OS2\ND5300.OS2 (for OS/2 LAN Server) 1) Copy ND5300.OS2 and ND5300.NIF files from "NDC ND5300 Driver diskette" (\LANSRV.OS2) to C:\IBMCOM\MACS. 2) Click the OS/2 LAN Service icon. 3) Select "Installation and configuration". The IBM logo should appear onscreen. 4) Click . 5) Select and press . 6) Select "Install or Configuration this Workstation." 7) Select server type, adding a server or domain controller. The "install or remove" selections should appear. 8) Select "Configure a component." 9) Click the "Configure" button. 10) Select "Configure workstation." 11) Select "ND5300 Plug and Play Ethernet adapter" when prompted to identify you Network Adapter. Then click the button. 12) Select IBM OS/2 NETBIOS and IBM IEEE 802.2 protocols from the list and click the button. 13) Select to confirm all selections. 14) Follow screen instructions to complete the process, selecting to accept default selections. 15) Continue pressing until your screen prompts you to backup old CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT and create a new CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT. Installion 1) Install the ND5300 Adapter on your PC system, following the procedure to install IBM LAN Server. 2) Install your LAN Server network system on your hard disk. 3) At the C:\IBMCOM prompt, type "LAPS" and press 4) Select "Install" and insert the Distribution Diskette that includes the NDIS driver for IBM LAN Server 3.x to any floppy drive, e.g., A:, to install the driver. 5) When prompted to specify the source of the network information file (.NIF files) for the adapter drivers you want to install, type "A:\LANSRV.OS2" and select OK. 6) When the Insatllation Complete window appears, select OK. 2. Configuration 1) When the main screen appears, select "Configure". 2) When the Configuration windows is displayed, select "Continue", then the Configure workstation windows will appear. 3) Select "ND5300 Plug and Play Ethernet Adapter" when prompted to identify your Network Adapters. Then click the button. 4) Select IBM OS/2 NETBIOS and IBM IEEE 802.2 protocols from the list and click the button. 5) Select OK to save changes, or select Cancel to exit without saving. 6) Select OK to return to the main menu. 7) Select Exit to exit. The configuration utility will update your CONFIG.SYS automatically. Follow screen instructions to complete the process. 8) Installation is complete now. Reset your PC by turning it off and on. NDC ND5300 Plug and Play Ethernet Adapter NDIS Driver for IBM OS/2 LAN Server 4.0 DOS LAN Requester Installation ============================================================== Location of Driver: \LANSRV.DOS\ND5300.DOS (for DOS LAN Services) * LAN Server 4.0 Installation (Using OEMSETUP.INF with DLS Installation) 1) Create a directory in the root of your fixed disk to place the drivers; for example, C:\ND5300. Then, copy all files from the directory \LANSRV.DOS of the Distribution Diskette to the directory. 2) Install DOS LAN Services. 3) When you are prompted to select the type of your network card, select "Network card not shown in list below", and then press . 4) Enter the path where the OEMSETUP.INF file is located when prompted for. (Type the directory created in step 1.) 5) When "ND5300 Plug and Play Ethernet Adapter" is displayed, press to continue. 6) Check if the settings are correct, and follow the instructions on the screen to complete the installation. NDC ND5300 Plug and Play Ethernet Adapter NDIS Driver for IBM OS/2 LAN Server 4.0 Server Installation ============================================================== Location of Driver: \LANSRV.OS2\ND5300.OS2 (for OS/2 LAN Server) 1) In OS/2 window, Click the "MPTS" icon. 2) The screen will display the IBM Logo, press "OK". 3) Select "Install" button. 4) Insert the "NDC ND5300 driver diskette", specify the driver path A:\LANSRV.OS2 and press . 5) When complete above step to load ND5300.OS2 into OS/2 system, then configure your system. 6) The same step as step 3, select "Configure" button. 7) The screen will display "Configure" dialog box and select "LAN adapters and protocols" then press "configure" button. 8) The screen will display "LAPS Configuration" dialog box, move highlight to "ND5300 Plug and Play Ethernet Adapter" item in "Network Adapter" window, and select "NetBios" protocol.
