NOVELL TECHNICAL INFORMATION DOCUMENT TITLE: NetWare v3.10 Synctime NLM DOCUMENT ID: TID000399 DOCUMENT REVISION: A DATE: 01JUL93 ALERT STATUS: Yellow INFORMATION TYPE: Symptom Solution README FOR: TIM386.EXE NOVELL PRODUCT and VERSION: NetWare Pre 3.11 and 2.2 ABSTRACT: Contained in this file is the program SYNCTIME. SYNCTIME is a NetWare Loadable Module (NLM), which forces the server's date and time to be synchronized to the hardware's clock at specified intervals. This NLM eliminates the gradual loss of time experienced by the server due to "missed" clock ticks while the server is in real mode. The program is only for NetWare v3.10. _________________________________________________________________ DISCLAIMER THE ORIGIN OF THIS INFORMATION MAY BE INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL TO NOVELL. SYNCTIME is a NetWare Loadable Module which forces the server's date/time to be synchronized to the hardware's clock at specified intervals. This NLM eliminates the gradual loss of time experienced by the server due to "missed" clock ticks while the server is in real mode. The syntax for SYNCTIME is as follows: LOAD SYNCTIME [DELAY=time] The DELAY parameter specifies the number of seconds between clock updates. This parameter is optional, with the default being 60 seconds. When unloading SYNCTIME, it may take some time to complete the unloading process (up to the amount of DELAY time specified). SYNCTIME is designed to run on NetWare 386 v3.10a ONLY. Any future revision of the Operating System will require a new version of SYNCTIME. ÿ
