The program "SETFIX.EXE" will correct the problem that has appeared on some IBM Personal System/2 computers that loose the system configuration information after NetWare has been installed and running on the system. This program works on all versions of NetWare that run on the PS/2 models 50, 60 and 80. Simply run this program against the respective linked operating system. This must be the "NET$OS.EXE" file. If using a dedicated file server, simply login to the system as the supervisor and copy this program into the "SYS:SYSTEM" directory. This is the most convenient way to modify 2.1 operating systems since the operating system is in two files prior to installation. Before running the program, make sure that "NET$OS.EXE" is set to read/write prior to running. This can be done with "FLAG" or "FILER" utilities. To run the program, simply type: "SETFIX NET$OS.EXE." The changes will be made to the file. If the file was being modified in "SYS:SYSTEM" directory, set it back to the original attributes of read only. Now re-boot with the modified operating system.
