These drivers will work with the standard Pronet 10 boards as well as the Micro Channel boards. The PRO10SH.LAN file must be copied to the SHGEN-1 diskette. The PRO10OS.LAN file must be copied to the AUXGEN and BRGEN-1 diskettes. The remaining *.OBJ files need to be copied to the LAN_DRV_002 diskette replacing the ?PNETDRV.OBJ and PRONETSH.OBJ files. If you are using the Micro Channel Proteon board you should have received the documentation for this board when you purchased it. Novell does not currently have any documentation for the Pronet 10 Micro Channel board. Proteon Pronet-10 v2.20 shell driver bug (Added 5-10-1988) When using the Proteon Pronet-10 shell driver version 2.20, an error can occur with some Pronet-10 adapter boards during initialization. This error can occur when there is actually nothing wrong with the network adapter or the cabling. The error displayed by the driver is as follows: Found ProNET-10 card at address 0300 HEX. Digital loopback test successful. Failed to find a packet in analog loopback mode. Error determining ProNET address of this station. Check station network cable for connections. To work around this bug, simply run the shell again. As long as the hardware is OK, the shell will work the second time. For batch files, it is all right to run the shell twice. The bug has been fixed in the workstation shell driver version 2.23. The server driver is not affected and remains at version 3.05. (This ARC file contains that latest drivers for 2.1 and and has been updated to include this fix.) ÿ
