ABSTRACT:

NWCPPP.exe contains a new version of PPPRNS.LAN (V2.01o) which fixes a security
issue with disabled NetWare user accounts.  NWCPPP.exe also contains all fixes
from previous versions of PPPRNS, including a fix for ISDN users who have the
Idle Time Before Disconnect set on the NWC Server.  This patch is recommended
for all NetWare Connect Servers which are loading PPPRNS.

SYMPTOM:

[] Disabling a user account in NetWare does not disable the user's NetWare
Connect account.
 [] If ISDN is being used on a NetWare Connect Server and the users have the
Idle Time Before Disconnection option enabled, the users will be disconnected
even when they are actively using the ISDN line. Idle Time Before Disconnection
is configured in NWCCON\ Configure NetWare Connect\ Security\ Set Global
Parameters\ Idle Time Before Disconnection. 

SOLUTION: 

Apply NWCPPP.EXE per instructions.

Installation Instructions:

From the NetWare Connect console:
 [] Unload NWCCON if loaded.
 [] Type NWCSTOP

 From a Workstation:
 [] Log into the NetWare Connect server as Admin or equivelant.
 [] Make a directory and "explode" FNWCPPP.exe into it.
 [] Rename F:\system\PPPRNS.LAN to PPPRNS.old.
 [] Rename F:\system\nls\4\PPPRNS.MSG to PPPRNS.OLD.
 [] Copy PPPRNS.LAN from FNWCPPP.EXE to the F:\System directory.
 [] Copy PPPRNS.MSG from FNWCPPP.EXE to the F:\System\nls\4 directory.

 Restart NetWare Connect by typing NWCSTART at the NetWare Connect server
console.
