This Readme file for MOUNTR.EXE is for Netware 2.15c. This patch is intended for NetWare 2.15c and corrects problems mounting large removable drives. To install a fix into NetWare using ZAPOBJ, issue the following command: ZAPOBJ input_obj_file output_obj_file fix_file > list_file In the above command, input_obj_file is the current .OBJ file, output_obj_file will be an updated version of input_obj_file, and fix_file is an input file containing the changes and is named after the .OBJ file it is to update. The " > list_file " suffix is optional and redirects the ZAPOBJ report from the screen to a disk file. We recommend this command suffix in the event of an unsuccessful execution. Which .FIX file you use depends on the flavor of NetWare 286 you have installed and whether you installed with 3 1/2inch or 5 1/4inch diskettes. For example, NetWare Advanced users would use ADV.FIX if they installed from 3 1/2inch diskettes or a combination of ADV_1.FIX and ADV_2.FIX if they installed from 5 1/4inch diskettes. NetWare TTS 5 1/4inch users would use TTS.FIX or a combination of TTS_1.FIX and TTS_2.FIX. For certain updates, Novell may not require an update to both .OBJ files in the 5 1/4inch format. In this case only one of the two .FIX files will be found. If a correctly named .FIX file cannot be found, a file called GENERIC.FIX should be present and will update all .OBJ files that it is designed for. These .FIX files are ASCII text and contain documentation on which versions and flavors of NetWare .OBJ files they are written to update. Examples of how to invoke ZAPOBJ: NetWare Advanced users who originally installed NetWare using 5 1/4inch diskettes and who were sent two ADV_n.FIX files (ZAPOBJ is executed twice in this example): ZAPOBJ ADV_1.OBJ NEWADV_1.OBJ ADV_1.FIX >ADV_1.LST ZAPOBJ ADV_2.OBJ NEWADV_2.OBJ ADV_2.FIX >ADV_2.LST NetWare TTS users who originally installed NetWare using 3 1/2inch diskettes: ZAPOBJ TTS.OBJ NEWTTS.OBJ TTS.FIX >TTS.LST NetWare ELS II users who originally installed NetWare using 3 1/2 inch diskettes (note that ELS II is always distributed as two .OBJ files): ZAPOBJ ELS_1.OBJ NEWELS_1.OBJ ELS_1.FIX >ELS_1.LST ZAPOBJ ELS_2.OBJ NEWELS_2.OBJ ELS_2.FIX >ELS_2.LST NetWare SFT users who originally installed NetWare using 5 1/4 inch diskettes and who were sent only one SFT_n.FIX file: ZAPOBJ SFT_2.OBJ NEWSFT_2.OBJ SFT_2.FIX >SFT_2.LST ZAPOBJ will issue a report of the changes made in the creation of the output .OBJ file. The last line of this report will indicate the success or failure of the update. If ZAPOBJ is unsuccessful, please contact Novell Technical Services. If ZAPOBJ is successful, replace your original .OBJ with the updated one just created and execute NETGEN. Link and configure the operating system and cause NET$OS to be copied to your network drive. This procedure will complete your installation. Users should maintain a backup copy of all .OBJ files prior to updating them with ZAPOBJ. It is also recommended that the user exercise his or her system software after such an update prior to placing it back into production. ÿ
