NOVELL TECHNICAL INFORMATION DOCUMENT TITLE: IWSB: Routing Patch README FOR: IWSBP1.EXE NOVELL PRODUCTS and VERSIONS: IntranetWare for Small Business ABSTRACT: In IntranetWare for Small Business (IWSB), a customer will be unable to BIND IPX to multiple LAN cards. It will prevent binding IPX to both a physical LAN card and NetWare Connect's PPPRNS service. NOTE: With the first release of LSLCRIPP.NLM a problem specific to TCPIP, had been identified. When IP is bound, no error messages are returned, but IP does not function. It did not effect IPX, multiple IPX protocols could be bound. ----------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER THE ORIGIN OF THIS INFORMATION MAY BE INTERNAL OR EXTERNAL TO NOVELL. Example: a server has two NE2000s LAN cards. You are able to load NE2000 for both LAN cards and can BIND IPX to first LAN card. In attempting to BIND IPX to the second LAN card an error is returned: SERVER-4.11-1850: Attempt to bind IPX LAN protocol to Novell NE2000 failed. (error=FFFFFF89) This problem also effects NetWare Connect running on IWSB. It will prevent binding IPX to both a physical LAN card and NetWare Connect's PPPRNS service. No error is returned during NetWare Connect startup, but CONFIG at the server console will show that for PPP Remote Node Services "No LAN protocols are bound to this LAN board." This causes any remote user dialing in to be unable to login to NetWare or use TCPIP. SOLUTION: NOTE: This patch is only needed for IntranetWare for Small Business (IWSB) with serial numbers in the following ranges: 20624444 - 20624657, 61717237 - 62244253, 79005005 - 79010004. If your serial number is not in the above ranges, you will not need this patch. To check your Server's serial number, type VERSION at the server console. To resolve this issue LSLCRIPP.NLM needs to be loaded from the STARTUP.NCF. NOTE: LSLCRIPP.NLM must be loaded each time the server is started. Also, make sure that PK411.NLM is loaded first before loading LSLCRIPP.NLM.
