Hartman (RLH) Novell Registered Professional Developer 5205 North Mulvaney Court, Spokane, WA 99212-1611 509-924-6576 (Voice) 509-926-4626 (Fax) CompuServe 76350,2275 =========================================================================== QUICK START =========================================================================== If you wish to get FPServer up and running immediately - without reading the FPSERVER.DOC file - the following steps will allow you to service a single print queue on LPT1: 1) Select a host PC for the test (this can be any PC that is on the network and has a directly-connected printer, including your normal workstation) 2) Log in as Supervisor and use Novell's PCONSOLE utility to confirm that the print server object does NOT require a password 3) Run QRIGHTS.EXE (included with FPServer) to grant queue operator rights to the print server object using the following syntax: QRIGHTS printserver printqueue 4) Start FPServer with a command line parameter which specifies the port, file server, print server, and print queue as follows: FPSERVER LPT1QUEUE=fileserver/printserver/printqueue The LPT1QUEUE command must use forward slashes and have no embedded spaces. All three parameters - the file server name, AND the print server name, AND the print queue name - must be supplied as shown. The command is not case sensitive, so upper and lower case characters may be freely intermixed. Steps 1, 2, and 3 are setup steps which need not be repeated.
