From: mrs@mcafee.com (Morgan Schweers) Subject: Finger Daemon NLM (a new one) Date: Tue, 23 Nov 1993 22:50:28 GMT Greetings, I've finally managed to get 'control' of a piece of code I wrote a while ago... It's really simple and REALLY straightforward, but I heard that a bunch of folks were interested. It was a 'test' I wrote to learn TCP/IP code under Novell Netware NLM's. It's a pretty nice finger daemon. It allows users to set up their own _PLAN files, _PROJECT's, returns data in almost perfect Unix format, uses their connection numbers for their tty's, well, here's an example... $ finger @storm.mcafee.com >[storm.mcafee.com] >Login Name TTY When Where >supervisor System Manager 001 Fri 16:51 00800F78C646A4 >supervisor System Manager 002 Mon 22:25 0000C067C646A4 >chuck Chuck Farley 003 Tue 10:24 00AA002FC646A4 >supervisor System Manager 004 Tue 13:19 0000C0F4C646A4 And... $ finger supervisor@storm.mcafee.com >[storm.mcafee.com] >Login name: supervisor In real life: System Manager >Currently logged in from 00800F780480 >Project: MHS-Programming, of course... >Plan: >Plan? I don't need no stinking plan! > >Ahhh, maybe I do anyway. If folks are interested, I could drop it someplace. I finally got permission from my company to let people have it, as long as the company is not associated in any way with the program! It's pretty small, and the docs for it are really minimal. If you'd like to give it a shot, drop me a line either by responding to this, or sending email to mrs@netcom.com... Mentioning 'Finger' in the subject would help a lot there... *grin* I hope I can help some folks out! I'm not looking to charge money for it, so don't worry about that. On the other side, I can't support it. If it doesn't work for you, I'd *LIKE* to know about it, but I can't guarantee I'll be able to fix it for you. -- Morgan Schweers
