Sometimes the config.txt file can be in excess of 50 pages of information. Is there a quicker way to analyze the information provided rather than doing it manually? SOLUTION: Use the Config Reader utility to automatically analyze the information gathered in the config.txt file. The Config Reader will give you suggestions of how you can update or correct problems on your server. It can tell you what patch sets patches on your server belong to and also allow you to keep track of updated nlm's like DS.NLM and CLIB.NLM. There is a database the Config Reader uses that keeps track of the patch sets and other nlm's. This database can be updated by the user as new patch sets and nlm's become available. Config Reader features: - Download a Novell-controlled database via FTP - Print Suggestions - Tell you what file to download if an NLM is "out-of-date" - Compare two servers' configs side-by-side Self-Extracting File Name: CFGRD5.EXE Files Included Size Date Time ..\ CFGRD5.TXT (This file) DISK1.ID 5 8-15-97 11:38:56 pm DISK2.ID 5 8-15-97 11:38:56 pm SETUP.EXE 47616 1-22-96 10:59:32 am SETUP.INI 34 8-15-97 11:38:44 pm SETUP.INS 145368 2-6-96 9:02:10 pm SETUP.PKG 266 8-15-97 11:38:56 pm _INST32I.EX_ 306666 1-22-96 11:08:18 am _ISDEL.EXE 8192 9-8-95 1:22:40 am _SETUP.1 743734 8-15-97 11:38:56 pm _SETUP.2 103923 8-15-97 11:38:56 pm _SETUP.DLL 10752 9-26-95 6:33:58 am _SETUP.LIB 189815 8-15-97 11:38:42 pm Installation Instructions: The Config Reader will only run on win 95/NT workstations.
