ABSTRACT:

This ROUTE.NLM fixes a problem on NetWare 4.x servers with slow response
caused by a limit of 79 entries to the Source Routing Table.  Under these
limitations, packets sent to a node not in the source routing table would be
sent as Single Route Broadcasts.  Now, more entries can be added to the Source
Routing Table as long as there is enough memory in the file server.  This
ROUTE.NLM can be used on NetWare 3.x servers as well as on NetWare 4.x
servers.

SYMPTOM

     On a large network (more than 79 nodes), you will notice slower responses
     from the network.  However, on a small network, no symptom is apparent.

CAUSE

     On NetWare 4.x servers only 79 entries are  added to the Source Routing
     Table.  Any packet being sent to a node not in the Source Routing Table
     would be sent as a Single Routes Broadcast.

SOLUTION

     With this new ROUTE.NLM,  more entries can be added to the source Routing
     Table as long as there is enough memory in the file server.

     Installation Instructions:

     1.   Rename your current ROUTE.NLM to ROUTE.OLD.

     2.   Copy the new ROUTE.NLM into your SYSTEM directory.

     3.   Load the new ROUTE.NLM in the same way as it was previously loaded,
          or follow the instructions in the applicable NetWare manual for
          loading it.
