To Install this diskette version of the NetWare Client for OS/2
    1.  Download CLOS2D.exe

    2.  Copy CLOS2D.exe to the directory location from which you wish to build diskettes. The extraction program will create 7 directorys.

    3.   Format seven 3.5" high density double-sided diskettes.

    4.   Label each diskette with the following names:
         Disk 1    WSOS2_1
         Disk 2    WSOS2_2
         Disk 3    WSOS2_3
         Disk 4    WSOS2_4
         Disk 5    OS2UTIL1
         Disk 6    OS2UTIL2
         Disk 7    OS2DOC_1

         Example:
         At the command line, type

            Label A: WSOS2_1

     5.  Insert diskette labelled WSOS2_1 into drive A:.

     6.  Change directory to WSOS2_1 on your hard disk.

     7.  Type the following at the command line:

          XCOPY *.* /S /E /V A:

     8.  Repeat steps 6 and 7 for the remaining five diskettes. Ensure that the files are copied from the correct directory to the corresponding labelled diskettes.

     9.  After creating the seven diskettes, insert WSOS2_1 diskette in drive A.

    10.  Open the drive A: icon on your desktop and open the INSTALL.EXE program. 
             
          The NetWare Client for OS/2 install screen appears.

    11.  Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the install.

             instructions:
             1-  Obtain c3295d_1.exe
             2-  Copy c3295d_1.exe to the directory location from which you
             wish to build diskettes
             3-  Extract the contents of the file by typing c3295d_1 from a
             dos prompt from the directory where it was copied
             4-  Prepare seven (7) blank formatted diskettes
             5-  Build the seven (7) diskettes from which to install the
             Client by typing MAKEDISK A: 
             6-  To install the NetWare Client 32 for Windows 95, insert the
             diskette labeled NetWare Client 32 for Windows 95 Disk 1 - Setup
             and select setup.exe from the START | RUN | A:\SETUP.EXE menu
             option.

1 Features in the NetWare Client for OS/2, v2.12

  1.1 NDS Support for Global DOS Sessions
     Provide DS support for the global WIN-OS/2 and DOS sessions.  This support enables NDS aware applications and utilities in the global WIN-OS/2 sessions in OS/2.  It also enables NDS aware DOS utilities in the global DOS sessions.

  1.2 High Performance I/O to Local NetWare for OS/2 Server
     The opportunity existed to increase performance between the NetWare client and server, when they exist on the same OS/2 hardware box.  An I/O "Fast Path" has been provided between the two operating spaces, providing optimization in I/O performance.  
     
  1.3 Cross Platform 32-bit Client Library
     Provided a 32-bit version of the Cross Platform Client Library.   This permits customers to develop true 32-bit network applications for the OS/2 platform.
 
  1.4 32-Bit NWIPXSPX Support
     The cross platform 32-bit interface for IPX and SPX calls have been provided for  customers that want to write IPX or SPX applications as 32-Bit NetWare aware applications.
  
  1.5 Base Mobility Support
     Provided an interface to enable mobile applications to suspend and resume the NetWare client.  An NWStart and NWStop utility, based upon this interface, has been provided for notebook users.  NWStop provides a mechanism to put the client asleep, permitting disconnect from the network without powering off the notebook.  NWStart provides activation of the NetWare client when going from a disconnected to a connected state without reboot of system.
 
  1.6 Performance Tuning Enhancements
     The performance of the OS/2 Client was examined, performance concerns were identified by Novell and IBM and corrected in the Novell NetWare Client and in OS/2 Warp.

The primary focus of this product release was product stability and reliability with the addition of the new features above.
