When you are asked to select a network driver, press the INS key. You will be asked to insert a LAN_DRV_??? diskette. Insert this diskette (or backup) in drive A. Upon completion, a new IPX.COM file will be created in your SHGEN-1 or WSGEN diskette. PCMDLINK.COM : is used to enable Phoenix PCMCCU and to allocate resources that I/O base: 320, IRQ: 5, and MEM base: D000 Only PCMCCU v1.3 need PCMDLINK.EXE to enable PCMCCU. DE-650 should be installed after executing PCMDLINK.COM program. DCD.EXE DCD.EXE is an integration version of open adapter utility. DCD.EXE supports Intel 82365SL, Toshiba T3300SL's ICCNT, and Socket Services v1.01, v2.0, v2.01, v2.10 Card Services v2.0, v2.01, v2.10. It also allows you to install up to two network adapters in a workstation. D-Link ODI driver supports "port, node address, protocol and frame" options. You can use these options to create your own NET.CFG file. For detailed info on Keywords, please refer to Novell's manual "NetWare ODI shell for DOS - NET.CFG options". 1) Copy the DE650ODI.COM file (from this diskette) to the directory which contains Novell's LSL.COM, IPXODI.COM and NETx.COM files. 2) Follow Novell's instructions on using the ODI programs. The SLT parameter of DCD.EXE is different from AE, PCIC, and ICCNT. Please see as the following, for more detail description. * DCD.EXE The default value is 0. You must set 0 when you use slot 1. Set slt:1 when slot 2 is used,etc. * AE.EXE, PCIC.EXE, and ICCNT.EXE The default value is 1. You must set 1 when you use slot 1. Set slt:2 when slot 2 is used,etc. P4 :The selectable grp value. The default value is 0. Group 0 means Index IO is 3E0h, Data IO is 3E1h, Base is 00h Group 1 means Index IO is 3E0h, Data IO is 3E1h, Base is 80h Group 2 means Index IO is 3E2h, Data IO is 3E3h, Base is 00h Group 3 means Index IO is 3E2h, Data IO is 3E3h, Base is 80h ***************************** * SERVER AND BRIDGE SETUP * ***************************** Example : NetWare 386 Server/Bridge Setup =========================================== 1) Copy the appropriate NetWare driver files (from this diskette) to the root directory of your Novell diskette labeled SYSTEM-1. >Copy A:\IBMPC\NETWARE\NET386\*.* B:\ --SYSTEM-1 disk must be in drive B 2) Execute Novell's SERVER program, which resides in the SYSTEM-1 diskette. After loading the hard disk driver, you can load the network driver as follows: :Load 386DE650.LAN --Select your network card settings :Bind ipx to 386DE650 :load install --Follow the NetWare installation instructions ********************************************* * NetWare 4.0 SERVER and ODI CLIENT DRIVERS * ********************************************* NetWare 4.0 Server Setup ========================== 1. Install the NetWare 4.x CDROM properly. Make sure that the PCMCIA Card/Socket Services and Client Driver have been properly installed in your notebook before installing the NetWare driver. If you have any questions about the PCMCIA software environment for your particular notebook, please refer to the \IBMPC\install.doc file on this diskette. 2. Prepare a D-Link LAN driver diskette that includes the following files. Insert D-Link driver diskette in A: driver Insert D-Link LAN driver diskette in B: driver 1) Copy NWDE650.LAN, NWDE650.LDI from D-Link driver programs diskette as follows: copy A:\IBMPC\NETWARE\NW40\SRV\NWDE650.LAN B: copy A:\IBMPC\NETWARE\NW40\SRV\NWDE650.LDI B: 2) Copy ETHERTSM.NLM, MSM.NLM from NETWARE 4.0 CD ROM or Diskette copy L:\NETWARE.40\________\LANDRV\ETHERTSM.NLM B: copy L:\NETWARE.40\________\LANDRV\MSM.NLM B: 3. Install NetWare 4.0 SERVER L: (CD ROM drive) L:\NETWARE.40\ENGLISH\install 4. Loading the LAN driver Choose a LAN driver that corresponds to the network interface board in the server, repeat this step for any additional drivers. 1) Press to load a LAN driver not listed. 2) Press to specify a different path, > B:\ ( Put D-Link LAN driver into the diskette drive which contains ETHERTSM.NLM and MSM.NLM ) 3) Netware will display the list including the additional new driver. Select the new LAN driver to install NWDE650.LAN D-Link DE-650 LAN Driver v2.00 (930801) 4) Set driver NWDE650 parameters such as following : Port value : 300H Node address : Frame type = Ethernet_802.2 Retries = 5 5) Bind the interface card to a protocol assign a unique IP Network address to bind IPX to NWDE650 (frame Ethernet_802.2) 6) Proceed and finish with installation ODI Client for DOS =================== D-Link ODI Driver allows you to load multiple protocol stacks. It also allows you to install up to two network adapters in a workstation. D-Link ODI driver supports "port, node address and frame" options. You can use these options to customize the NET.CFG file. Please install the NetWare ODI client driver files following the procedures as described in the NetWare installation guide. Insert this diskette (or backup) which contains DE650ODI.COM, DRIVERS.DOS and DE650ODI.INS in drive A. 4) Follow the NetWare Client Install normal installation procedures, Which resides in the WSDOS_1 diskette. When asked to select a network driver, simply choose "D-Link DE-650 PEMCIA Ethernet Card" for selecting parameter like as Base I/O Port, Media Frame Type(s) and Optional Node Address. Upon completion, a new NET.CFG file will be created in your DOS directory. Turbo Driver for Workstation ============================ The usage of Turbo Driver on the workstations is as following : LSL DE650PRO.COM IPXODI NETX F: LOGIN John Note 1: Don't need to load IPX driver (IPXDE650) again. It will not take additional memory than ODI driver. It can replace the ODI driver. Note 2: You must load DE220PRO.LAN on the NetWare server and run DE650PRO.COM on the workstations. Then the effect of the Turbo Driver will work out.
