THE MOUSE SYSTEMS CORPORATION MSCMOUSE DRIVER v 7.10 Your Mouse Systems Software package contains two Mouse drivers: MSCMOUSE.SYS and MSCMOUSE.COM. The MSCMOUSE.SYS mouse driver can only be used in the CONFIG.SYS file where the MSCMOUSE.COM can be used either in your AUTOEXEC.BAT or anytime at the DOS prompt. COMMONLY USED COMMAND LINE OPTIONS The following are common command line parameters to be used with the mouse driver. Enter command: MSCMOUSE where represents one or more of the following: /1 Direct Mouse Driver to COM1 /2 Direct Mouse Driver to COM2 /C Direct Mouse Driver to Bus Card /P Direct Mouse Driver to PDP port (IBM PS/2) /A0 Disable acceleration and set resolution back to the default /A# Invoke High-Resolution dynamic acceleration level (1 - 9) /E Enable/Disable resolution doubling /I Enable/Disable application defined mouse sensitivity /U Unload MSCMOUSE and POPUP drivers to release memory /? Exercise help parameter list For example, the following commands will direct the mouse driver to COM2, set the mouse acceleration to 8, set the base resolution to 200-DPI (assuming a 100-DPI mouse), and disable an application program's ability to set its own mouse sensitivity: 1. In the AUTOEXEC.BAT (or at the command line/DOS prompt): MSCMOUSE /2/A8/E/I (NOTE!! Could also be: mscmouse /2/a8/e/i) or \MOUSE\MSCMOUSE /2/A8/E/I (If you copy MSCMOUSE.COM to a subdirectory called MOUSE) 2. In the CONFIG.SYS: DEVICE=MSCMOUSE.SYS /2/A8/E/I or DEVICE=\MOUSE\MSCMOUSE.SYS /2/A8/E/I (If you copy MSCMOUSE.SYS to a subdirectory called MOUSE) SETTING MANUAL ACCELERATION To set mouse acceleration manually, press CTRL + ALT + Left Mouse Button. After the beep, release the three keys and press any number 0 - 9 on the keyboard. If you do not make a valid selection within 6 to 8 seconds, the mouse driver will beep three times and return you to your application with the mouse set as before. Otherwise, there will be two beeps and you will return to your application with a new acceleration level.
