Chapter 5. ADF

5.2 Installation

5.2.1 Unpacking the ADF Box
Unpack the ADF from the shipping carton. Keep the carton and packing materials for future use. Check if the following items are present and in good condition:
If any item is missing or damaged, please contact your local dealer immediately.

5.2.2 Setting up the ADF
To begin setting up ADF, follow the steps below:
Step 1Turn off the scanner.
Step 2Remove the scanner top cover.
Step 3Insert the mounting posts of the ADF base plate into the holes.
Step 4Plug the cable into the connector on the rear side of scanner.
Step 5Insert the paper tray into the ADF. See section 5.2.3.
Step 6Turn on the power.

5.2.3 Inserting the Paper Tray
To insert the paper tray, follow these steps:
Step 1Lift up the tray cover.
Step 2Diagonally lift up the paper tray and attach the hooks to the pins on the side wall of the ADF.
Step 3Lay down the tray cover.

5.2.4 Removing the Paper Tray
To remove the paper tray, follow these steps:
Step 1Lift up the tray cover.
Step 2Lift up the end of the tray.
Step 3Unmount from the base plate.

5.2.5 Removing the ADF
Follow these steps to remove the ADF:
Step 1Turn off the scanner.
Step 2Remove the paper tray. See section 5.2.4.
Step 3Unplug the cable.
Step 4Lift up base plate and pull out from the scanner.

5.2.6 Loading Paper
Follow these steps to load paper:
Step 1Lift up the tray cover.
Step 2Expand the paper guide.
Step 3Load paper into the tray. Place the scan side face up, and the first to be scanned on top.
Step 4Push the paper to the end of the tray and tighten the guide according to the paper width.
Step 5Lay down the tray cover.
